The Rose and Crown Hotel

I personally like it there! I don't do fancy places this was a nice simple accommodation and a place for me to stay while I'm studying at university. This was a lovely RR time to myself and will definitely keep this hotel open in thoughts when coming down to Carmarthen next time.

Staff all smiles and friendly, cleaned away glasses regularly. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was outstanding, best sausage ever!

Reasonably priced pub accomodation, weell proportioned and well presented rooms. A very good breakfast and friendly and efficient staff. Overall excellent.

Lovely old coaching inn ,uodated to provide excellent bed and breakfast. Exceptional clean and warm and welcoming staff in a friendly way. Stayed twi nights had winderful quiet room at tip of building. No noise issues and excellent breakfast and evening meal. I enjoyed joining licals inbthe friendly bar area. Would love to come back. Very lovely staff great food and cosy modern room-

Busy pub. Room was clean with a comfy King bed, good double shower and plenty of complimentary toiletries. There was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room and plenty of room to store our luggage. Only drawback was that there’s no parking on the premises. There’s street parking or pay and display. This is really misleading as the online description for this Pub states “parking available.” We queried this with staff at the premises and they were apologetic, stating that they had contacted Hotels.com about their description (“parking available “ - as it gives the impression that there’s parking available for guests on the premises) but that Hotels.com had refused to amend it. They went on to say that they had been challenged about this misleading information by numerous customers, and had made efforts change it, but that Hotels.com had refused to change the description. As such, we had to search for parking on a very busy Saturday evening; something we could have really done without.

Room was spacious and warm, staff were friendly and professional. Amazing shower with hot water. The food was great and most importantly super hot. Only down side is the bed was not very comfortable and parking on the street. I had to make a few rounds on the one way system to get a space. You can only park for 30 minutes between 9am and 6pm and then free after 6pm.

Staff at check in was awesome. Accommodating and kind. However although wifi was an amenity, wifi NEVER worked during our two day stay and staff was unwilling to acknowledge the problem or offer a solution. That made use of cell phone as an international traveler an issue. Rooms were fine - just internet as part of the facility offering is behind my less than 5 star rating. It was a disappointment with the booking.

Would definitely recommend the Rose and Crown as a place to stay in Carmarthen. The staff were cheerful and helpful, there's an extensive food menu served between 12 and 9pm. The breakfasts are to die for with local produce and veggie options.

Lovely place to stay. The only drawback was that there was no car park attached to the Rose & Crown.

Stayed here numerous times for business, rooms are always clean and comfortable and food is very good. Staff always excellent.

I came to stay as had some activities to do on the University, my room was very comfortable and had good rest each night.

On checking in we were told that "we open normal pub hours. If you return outside them ring the door bell and someone will let you in". We returned at just after 10.30 to find the pub closed. Rang the bell numerous times, but got no response. My wife continued to try the door while I sought help - and possibly an emergency room for the night - from the pub just down the road. They got no response on the 'phone, but while they were thinking of other options my wife 'phoned to say someone had finally opened the door to the Rose & Crown. This some 10-15 minutes after our return. When I got back the door opener muttered an apology and said "the doorbell must be broken". He asked for our room number and I anticipated a more fullsome apology or perhaps the offer of a free breakfast the next morning. However on checking out - when as on check-in, the reception was lukewarm at best - no mention was made of the incident. Had it not been for this I probably wouldn't have posted a review at all, a fairly average stay with no highlights or (other) lowlights.

Nice room, comfy bed and very good breakfast. However, despite being on the top floor was woken at midnight by very loud disco downstairs which went on until 1am.

Lovely little hotel right in the middle of town. Great staff, great food and room was comfy and we slept well.

The staff was so friendly. The room was on a little run down and you could hear a lot from the street the hall and the bar downstairs but things quieted down around 10-11p.

Advertised as parking available, there isnt any and the staff know and dont care that its advertised as available. Had to park in a council car park with 4 hours max stay. If you have a car stay somewhere else.
