For the price (around 80Euros for 2 people including breakfast) the hotel is good. Of course some things are a bit old, but the staff is nice and we enjoyed the pool / sauna / parking lot / quitness and garden. As our room hasn't been so clean in the beginning the cleaning ladies came back the next day and were really nice. Only thing that I really did not like is the coffee. Everywhere on the island you get a nice espresso for 1 Euro and the Hotel only offered an old instant Nescafe machine.

This hotel has an incredible view. Big rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Hard beds, needs a loving hand, and thats what they do now, unfortunately. Because, I was looking forward to spend some time in the nice libary and sitting area. But they improve. The surroundings can be quite noisy. Cars/mopeds and barking dogs. Also the area of Cãmera do Lobos is a cosy little village, always busy with something. Anyway the balcony is amazing and spacious.

We stayed for a week in Hotel Quinta. Of course it's a bit out dated but you get good quality and value for money. The room is good and clean. The bed sure is fine and a good size. We had a little fridge in the room. Nice view from our balcony. Breakfast is what you expect and more. Fresh fruit every morning (banana pineapple, melon, watermelon, orange). A selection of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon and sausage. Yoghurt, croissants, sweets, cake and applepie. Tomato, cucumber and salad. Top that off with a very friendly staff, clean pool and that made that we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The heart of Funchal at a 15 minute drive is perfect if you don't want to stay in the busy centre of the city.

I stayed in the hotel for one week, I was eating only breakfast in the hotel. I liked the hotel very much, the price was not too high for my stay, the staff was very kind and helpful, the hotel owns a parking space and a garage where you can park your car, this is very convenient. You can see the hotel needs some renovations, and you can feel that the hotel's old glory is gone. As I said it needs some investment to become what was in the past. Nevertheless, the service is on the top level, the rooms are pleasant, you have a view from your room, the hotel owns a larger and a smaller pool, breakfast is good, and you can have also dinner at the hotel. The capital city and the airport are not that far away from the hotel. I would say, that if the hotel had 3 stars, it would be a very good 3-star hotel, I kept this assumption in mind while writing my review.

The hotel itself is on a great spot. There is a supermarket on the corner, it is easy to access from main roads, and it has a nice view. Unfortunately the walls are very thin, and some rooms have a door between them, which are not soundproof at all. The stuff was nice and helpful tho and we could change rooms immediately. I wouldn't say the doors to the rooms are very well installated either. The beds are actually two smaller beds pushed together, so you or your significant other has to sleep in the middle of two mattresses. The breakfast is not exceptional, nothing extra, you can find something for yourself for sure. Fruits are very delicious like everywhere on Madeira. Coffee is instant coffee, which is hideous -1 star on service for that. But overall the stuff was very nice and helpful. Sauna is very nice to have after long hikes, so that was amazing, but the pool has so much chlorine in it, that you might be able to loose your tan jumping into it...
