Visited with my Mum on 01.07.24, due to stay 3 nights. We could only stand to stay for one night.
Initially, we could not find the parking for the hotel as there were no signs at the top of the steep drive.
We then found it and checked in- the lady on reception was lovely!
Our twin room balcony faced a bar and the room smelt musty and damp, there were hairs on the floor. (That weren’t ours)
We asked the lovely receptionist if we could move rooms, which she was able to do for €30 per night extra, which we accepted.
The second room was better, cleaner and did not smell of mould. Beds were not overly comfortable and the blanket on top of the bed was scratchy, as were the towels.
We went out for dinner that evening and returned to our room. Rooms are advertised as soundproof, but we soon learnt this was not the case. All we could hear until 1am were the party boats blaring heavy bass and music across the bay, fireworks and dogs on the beach outside the hotel barking.
When we finally managed to get some sleep, we went down for breakfast which was poor choice and the worst breakfast we had of our whole stay in Albania.
We informed another lovely lady on reception that we were kept up all night and had found alternative accommodation (Gle Alb in the mountains and this was the most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed at). The receptionist told us they were aware of the loud party boats and had been arguing with the people running them. She advised we would need to email management as we requested a refund for the 2 nights, as the hotel was NOT soundproof as advertised.
A few emails later and management declined our request for a refund, citing it was a non refundable booking. I accept the booking was non refundable, but that was on the basis the hotel was as described and it was not.
Unless you want to be up until 1am every night, or have your balcony opposite a bar, I would stay elsewhere!!!!
