A very nice hotel with nice grounds, the staff were great and the food better still. The gym is a big plus and is well kept. The room was clean and tidy only let down by only having 2 pillows on a double bed I'd expect 4 but other than that a great stay and I'd stay again.

When you go to drive into the hotel they need to have extra lightening to drive through the grounds and sign post at the entrance to guide you to reception as it is very dark. It's alright during the day. Breakfast could do with being hotter as it was Luke warm. Rooms needed to have tissues.

Has a feeling of space especially with golf course. A country hotel. Good facilities- swimming pool , Turkish bath, sauna (at minute jacuzzi not working). WiFi good and TV with freeview channels. Nice bathroom with tub. Did not eat at hotel - walked to an Indian restaurant at the edge of the driveway to the hotel. There is now a coffee shop next to the Indian as well.

Sadly disappointed with this stay. Thought there would be more of a wow factor about it. Overlooking bin store and rubbish and woken up at 5.40am by staff talking loudly outside the kitchen. I’m sure they would have modernised other parts of the hotel, but I think I drew the short straw on this occasion 🙁

The reception and checking in was ok. My room was quite cold, the thermostat did not appear to do anything, but there was a wall heater. However as the power works off key card, when i left to go to dinner, the heating obviously went off. I also woke up in the wee small hours and was cold. Dinner was interesting. I ordered the Salmon, as advertised on the menu, turned out to be Sea bream, whcih no one else had noticed. The vegetables were different to those stated as well. Sadly I did not get to use the health club areas.

Stood waiting at the reception desk for about 5 mins, with three different people seeing me and not even acknowledging that i was waiting. Once someone did and came over, i got no apology for having to wait and pretty much no communication whatsoever. No problem with them being busy, but a simple 'hi, we'll be with you in 1 min' etc. would have sufficed. Hotel was nice enough, although did notice a suspicious stain on the bed sheet and the mattress was quite lumpy. Leisure facilities and breakfast were good though.

An lovely looking old hotel with modern additions. Creaking stairs lead to a lovely large room. Even though it was frosty outside the radiators were set to max. The room and especially the bathroom were stiflingly hot, opening the windows just made the sound of the planes landing at Stanstead even louder. Breakfast was the usual luke warm pans of beans, eggs and meat, options for vegetarians and dietary requirements limited.

Our room was lovely; it was warm and clean. The bathroom was fine and there was an excellent TV! But the central common areas and corridors were a bit cold. The Health Club was a bit disappointing: the pool and steam room were fine but the jacuzzi wasn't working, nor was the ladies' sauna. Breakfast was not great.

The worst hotel I have ever stepped foot in. Booked for 2 nights ran away after one. No hot water in rooms. Rooms so tire and basic this place makes a travel lodge look like Claridges. I cannot tell you how awful it is.

The hotel was adequate but staff showed little interest in being helpful. My basement room looked onto a walled patio area that was dirty. My room was clean and warm. My dinner and breakfast was of poor quality, dry and overcooked. I felt it was all overpriced

I booked through Expedia and there was nothing mentioning the restrictions on pool use for kids. We were flying on holiday the next morning and chose this specifically for the pool as my son and I love to swim. There were cheaper options closer to Stansted that would have been better. They refused to budge on moving the closing time for a half hour. They/Expedia need to update this as once school finishes chances are parents can only get there around 3:30 which only gives them two hours in the pool. Check in was also slow. One person was just on the phone while the other was helping someone else and neither looked out way to say "won't be a minute" or acknowledge our presence in any way. The room was in the basement with a tiny window for natural light. The grounds were nice though, but overall, Not a good stay.

Lovely hotel however the spa facilities were not all available for the duration of our stay, very disappointing especially as we booked this hotel for rehabilitation of illness. Staff permitted a large group of children to walk around the pool area in dirty shoes, whilst relaxing these children were distruptive and abusive to myself and other guests. So overall not a very relaxing experience. The staff were very friendly until I had an issue, and then their attitude changed. The rooms were clean but dated. We had a fire exit from our bedroom which lead onto the roof. On waking in the morning I saw another guest sitting by my bedroom drinking coffee and smoking.

I booked this hotel for some of our employees - who stay away regularly, the price for here was the same as a shared accommodation, so it was a no brainer for their stay. Our employees loved this, the gym facility and swimming pool was a great addition to their normal accommodation.

Very good value for money. Interesting building. Pool looked good. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great. Difficult to find on GPS in the dark. A bit worn, probably due an update, but this is reflected in the price.
