Motel One Newcastle

Great location and very clean with friendly staff. Rooms a little on the small side and would have been nice to have a biscuit with the tea tray.

Beds are so comfy. Good central location, modern, nice staff

Really impressed with Motel One. Better than expected. Reception staff were first class, explained everything clearly and succinctly and were very welcoming. Rooms were very clean and bed was extremely comfortable. Location wise, obviously having the Bigg Market on the doorstep isn't ideal on a Friday or Saturday night, but room was quiet. I'd stay here again because value for money is outstanding.

Excellent stay

Unfortunately the bathroom had a very strong smell of urine around the floor of the toilet, additionally there were makeup smudges on the bottom of the mirror, and makeup stains (orange foundation marks) on plug sockets and light switches, which made the room feel unclean. The smell in the bathroom was very strong and unpleasant. Additionally it was hard to sleep due to other guests letting their doors slam, this happened a few times between 11pm-1am both nights, so I didn’t end up sleeping well at all, which had a negative impact on my day (I was staying in Newcastle due to a job interview so the lack of sleep due to slamming doors was especially disappointing). I appreciate that these are heavy fire doors but the sound was so loud it vibrated the walls. Overall the location is great, staff were professional and as a budget hotel it’s fine if you’re travelling for social reasons.

Desk service was awesome. The room and areas were generally clean. Although the room was smaller than I expected, the overall experience was pretty good. The hotel was within walking distance of various entertainment areas. The area was safe and hotel has a nice cozy vibe with decent flashes of being contemporary. Certainly a place to stay for repeat visit

Great location. Friendly staff. Room was very small with no space. A couple of hangers only. No bulb in bedside lamp, told receptionist and asked for maintenance to fit another. She said no maintenance in this week! Offered us another room, same as ours. As we’d already unpacked and were downstairs from 5th floor we declined. I said oh, I’ll have to use my phone light to read. She’s replied, oh bless you!!! In the morning we were rushing to catch out train and I started to dry my hair. The drier only blew out cold air so I had to leave with wet hair as no time to request another drier. I told the receptionist and she said I have one here behind reception is you want to use it. I said we had no time as we had a train to catch. She said sorry! No offer of compensation or a free upgrade or breakfast for a future visit. The room should be checked daily to ensure things work

Perfectly situated in the town centre, close to bars, restaurants, right next door to the stand comedy club and just round the corner from the theatre royal. The rooms are modern and clean if not compact and bijoux. Check-in was fast and friendly. In summary great value for money and wonderfully located - would recommend and would stay again.

Once again a fab stay at motel one Newcastle. Central for city centre and quayside. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable price and car park close by. Highly recommend

Staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly. I've knocked a star off for room A/C not being very good (very hot in the night) and the shower being like a little trickle. Apart from that all very good and a great location.

Very friendly staff very clean rooms nice that there is tea and coffee in your room. I had a lovely quiet room. The only thing I would say is that the bar downstairs is rather pricey. Other than that, it was super very convenient for the shops near the train station. I will certainly stay again.

The receptionist was really helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and warm . The breakfast was really good with plenty of choices . Highly recommended, we will definitely stay again.

This is a hidden gem. In the centre of Newcastle so perfect for staying after a theatre visit. Spotless inside. Check in was seamless. Reasonable price would definitely stay again.

Excellent central location for restaurants and bars. The hotel (despite its less than appealing name) is modern, industrial chic with friendly staff at the front desk. The rooms are small but well-equipped. I would recommend it for a business trip

Small room with no sitting area or table,not the best, would not stay again.

Rooms are quite small and only continental breakfast which isn’t worth the price

Noisy hotel. Guests on floor above were partying till 3.30am when police called. Then local pubs bins and glass bottles collected at 6am every morning. On top of this light bulb in bathroom not working and sink which barely emptied. Very disappointed, have work in Newcastle but wont be staying here again especially as car parking in Dean street a 10 min up hill walk.
