2 night stay in the post new year lull, for a family funeral. No TV remote in the room. Card keys stopped working after one night. Fire exit door left wide open outside our room on bitterly cold night. Toilet cistern leaking onto bathroom floor. Very poor TV and bathroom noise insulation from adjacent room. Also noise from the adjoining petrol station and road, and early morning bin activity.
Continental breakfast reasonable and fairly priced. Plenty of parking. Comfy bed.

We've stayed here before and really enjoyed it. The staff are first class, really really nice and friendly and very helpful too.
However, the rooms are tired, the bathroom particularly so. Having said that, it is good value and we'll be back again.

Nice building and helpful staff, but the condition of the furniture was not good ( broken chair leg) and there was a lot of noise, including audible conversations from other rooms. Compared with other places we have stayed, this was poor value for money.

It was a "cosy" room, unfortunately this meant small, right next the road with little to no sound proofing. Cars/trucks/motorbikes/sirens - zero sleep. Unless you sleep like a log be careful on booking one of these rooms.
The service at the bar - had a £2.50 Thatchers, in a can, poured in a glass, half froth, "wrong glass", poured into another glass, more froth, rest of can slowly dripped in. . .
Walking up to the room, the small corridor had a fire door on it, wedged open - with the smoke exhalation vents from the kitchen below right next to it. The corridor smelt of old fat. . thankfully the room wasn't too bad.
It's a shame I've stayed here before and it's be "ok" - but this time was awful. . .check your room and unless you are a VERY heavy sleeper. . .do not pick a room facing the road (had I know I'd have not taken that room!)

The hotel in itself was ok, however as we were going to a wedding the following morning we left in a rush and had left my silk pillowcase behind. We realised later on in the evening and came back to the hotel to see if the staff had given the item to lost and found. It is understandable for any hotel to not take any responsibility for any lost items, however to say to us that they dont have the item or they couldnt find it is unacceptable especially because it was forgotten there. Something so specific like a grey silk pillowcase wouldve caught housekeepings attention and shouldve been handed back!

The staff were really friendly and helpful, service with a smile. An ordered cappuccino got forgotten, when I asked after it, there was much apologising and a free beer was brought out as way of apology which was appreciated. The lady on reception was really helpful.
Our room faced the road so was really noisy. The breakfast was dreadful, was not freshly cooked, both our poached eggs were hard, the baked beans old and sausage dried out - they did offer something else, but I just requested a refund which was given. The manager did insist it was freshly cooked, but it 100% was not, but the complaint was handled well.
