Super close spot to old town with parking. Walking distance to Horloge astronomical clock and timbered buildings. Restaurants looked inviting and more than met expectations. Ten minute stroll in everything was delightful.

The hotel is situated about a 25 min walk from the train station but can be reached via the metro and a short bus ride. The entrance was a bit confusing as the hotel shares the same reception desk as the adjoining Mercure hotel but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Clean, spacious room. Very quiet. Excellent breakfast.

The restaurant is great—delicious food and a breakfast buffet with plenty of options to kick-start your morning. The staff? Friendly. But there's an interesting duality to this place: you've got the Ibis side and the Mercure side. I never ventured over to the Mercure part, but it seemed to attract a lively professional crowd as well as some older guests. I wouldn't be surprised if that was their main bread and butter. Meanwhile, the Ibis side—where we stayed—had this trendy ghost town vibe. Like once upon a time it was hip and full of life until covid sucked the air out of it's lungs. Now there are merely relics of colorful vinyl seats, a bar/reception area, and a foos balls table from the old days when hipsters and backpackers frequented it's halls to get a good night's sleep. I don't know... It was October. Maybe it’s more of a summer hotspot, because it felt like we had the entire wing to ourselves. Now, let's talk about Room 120. The funk in that bathroom? Whew! Oh, it was undeniable and unbelievable. No ventilation, no windows, and it reeked of mildew. The bedroom needed some walls patched and a little paint. Nothing crazy but it was absolutely in need of some TLC. Why didn’t we complain? Well, it was cheap, and we only had to deal with it for two nights. Plus, we were just using the room to sleep. But, note to future self: if we stay at another Ibis, we're definitely speaking up!

The property needs attention to some in room details. Our room had a completely non-functional air conditioning unit and it took me a lot to convince the reception to come up and understand the issue before entertaining their suggestions of keeping windows open! On top of that the bathroom was flooding due to lack of proper sealing on the shower partition wall. Otherwise it was ok for one night in Rouen.

The location was great. Everything else about the hotel and room was about maximum profit. The room was clean and comfortable, but below standard in terms of a typical hotel. No in room coffee, water, no drawers so everything had to be on shelves, not allowed to control heat or a/c. Don't go out at night unless you like being approached by hookers. Not a good value because parking, breakfast, coffee, water, all were at extra cost. I would not stay here again.

The Room Card said there was room service, but the menu was not only out of date (azlthough it didnt say so) but the picing had more than doubled. Instead of honouring this we were told they would speak tp spmone. The two hotels have combined but there was no signage to say so, which meant looking fo Ibis reception, which was in the Mercure Hotel. As regular visitors here, it was very disappointing, although domr og thr dtsff were the same and very good.

Because the hotel facilities are shared between Ibis and Mercure the set up was confusing. Two separate car parks with one entrance, not possible to put charges to your Ibis room for restaurant drinks. Very bad service for dinner, although the manager was good about giving a free main course. But the staff did what they could to help, no blame attached to them.

This is a cost effective hotel in a good location in regards to the centre of Rouen. Lots of local shops are walkable and it’s easily accessible by car. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean etc. The car parking situation is… acceptable. It’s incredibly tight, really not for any longer vehicles. My Jag barely fit in and out and the spaces definitely weren’t wide enough for it. It’s also not the cheapest parking option locally - so worth baring in mind.

Stay here every year, found some of the desk staff this time unhelpful (anything to avoid doing something). Have closed breakfast area and push you through to Mercure instead which is fine. Bar seems to be open if they can be bothered!
