Self check-in was really easy to use, room was clean and comfortable. Kitchen is nice, with a coffee maker.

We were given our checkin information in advance, which was awesome, but it would have been helpful to indicate which building we were in, so we didnt bother a tenant. Kitchen was well equipped.

They charged for room but nobody was there and we called them no answer.Although we have not stayed they charged us and not refund back us. Not recommend.

Internal is neat and moden. Alternative phone number and emails are posted and there is a working landlines phone in the entrance area, no need to worry not getting the room code . But it would be nice to get the room access code one day in advance. I got mt room code emails around 12pm of arrival day.

We enjoyed our stay. The facilities are clean and the kitchen area with the coffee machine was excellent. The self check in was easy an convenient.

I had a horrible experience with this place. We arrived late to the guesthouse due to some trouble on our way and couldn’t get in as there was no key left. There was no pin left to get the key. When we tried to contact on the given phone number, there was no response. We were left outside on the street in the extreme cold weather with nowhere to go. With great difficulty got another hotel for the overnight stay. We contacted the reception of the guesthouse the next day and she was very rude and blunt with no consideration to our ordeal.

They do not have a front desk and were supposed to send the checkin details via email, which did not happen and when we tried calling the phone number provided no one picked up. Stay away from this property, its not for families and their customer service is non existent to say the least

Did not receive and email about check in process. Got their to learn it self service accommodations. Room is small for three and stuffy. Washrooms and shower okay. Great kitchen area!

The staff was helpful. The building was clean and comfortable. We saw the northern lights there😊!

The property owners did not respond to calls for the code to get into the rooms.,either for me or two others. The entrance smelled like the bathrooms that opened into it. Do not recommend.

I never stayed in the room as I never had the actual code to enter the room. I slept in my car. I paid them about $150 USD. They have not responded to any of my calls or other contacts. I want a full refund and if you could remove them from your site. This is theft.

Good room, easy to use pin code system. Only issue was there was no email as expected for the room access code, so had to call for information.

The check in was not easy, no email with door code was received, and on site staff didn’t know how to help. Very frustrating. I found someone who spoke Icelandic to help me sort through my problem, and finally succeeded in getting a code. Kitchen was hectic and had broken can openers and few pot varieties.

Surprised on the best way:)) only this was the kettle didn't work which was a shame but other than that it was great, clean comfortable and well designed!

Although the room is smaill, quite typical in Iceland, it was very clean. It comes with a wash basin. The shared bathroom is closed to the room. You are allowed to cook in the kitchen. The property itself is ideally situated in a pleasant surrounding - by the river. Parking was not a problem at all.

We have stayed in multiple self check in places, so we were familiar with the concept. This place however requires someone to at a bare minimum have a look to the common areas and do some sensible mantainance. The men bathroom, disgrace, flooded thanks to the shower room leaking water everywhere, one of the shower rooms had a holw in the wall were you could easily hide inside, who knows what you can find inside there. The kitchen had no light as 5 out of 8 lights were broken. We saw people arriving with no codes to self check in and waiting in the common area, hoping to get someone to answer their phone calls. The room itself was simple but enough to sleep one night, unless you find hairs all over the bed and pillow in which case, you will spend your time calling for service and get no one to answer. The owners of this place don't care about their guests, here you will pay without knowing what you will get, and you wont be able to claim anything during your stay.

Most Icelandic guesthouses are converted from old houses and have small rooms up narrow staircases. This building is a purpose-built guesthouse with wide, hotel-style accesses which makes it a lot more accessible for people with accessibility issues. However, it loses some of the guesthouse charm as a result :) so it depends on what you're looking for!
