ORI Rokkaku

Fantastic room with ample storage space. Modern decor, very clean bathroom, separate toilet/vanity/shower. We had 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 child and it still felt roomy. Great to have a kitchenette also so we could heat up meals and buy groceries. Close to bus stops with buses only a10 minute ride to Central Kyoto. Loved our stay there! Would book this place on our next trip to Kyoto.

Acceptable stay given what the hotel could provide. Would prefer to stay in a Mimaru property where better service is provided.

Check in through the Kabin app Does not work, check in tablet in lobby does not work and left us stranded for an hour trying to check in after 11 PM, in room safe, did not work, websites has luggage storage and it’s a shared storage with no security so it is not really luggage storage I so it is misrepresentation through the website and unprofessional. Do not waste your time with this ridiculous.

Quiet hotel in the back streets, but that added to the charm for this small hotel. Easy walking distance to Nijo Castle and the Gion district

The staff was all nice and helpful, and it was easy to navigate around the area for shopping and food.

Fantastic guest house like stay. Comfortable beds and a convenient kitchenette. Fab location with bus stop just outside. Quite a bit out of the city/central station but a quick bus ride beats that for the price and amenities.

Definitely recommend for my friends and family if they are visiting Kyoto in the future.

Excellent room condition and great location

Had a great time at the hotel. Quite walkable to nearby sites like Nishiki Market. Very close to bus stops (3 minutes walk), a bit of a longer distance to train stations. Within 5 minutes to Lawsons and 7-11 and there is a small local shopping street next to Lawsons with some cafes, restaurants, produce/grocery stores, and other stores. Beware that taxi drivers might find it difficult to find the hotel. It took a bit for the driver to figure it out and still ended up one street over from the hotel. You will definitely need the address in Japanese. Room was large enough to comfortably hold 3-4 people. Beware though that bunk beds are not soft and just a thin mattress/futon on a hard base. I didn't mind it but if your sensitive about it, don't book the room with bunk beds. Some areas were dusty (shelves/drawers inside the dresser, the ledges beside the beds). We just wiped it off ourselves. Because we stayed for 2 weeks, cleaning was arranged every 3 days. Kitchen is tiny with 1 burner, so you definitely can't make a feast, but it worked for simple stuff like noodles. Super convenient. All cutlery, dishes and pot/pan are in the room already. We requested a knife and cutting board at reception during their open hours. All in all, a nice quiet place to stay. Very happy with the hotel.

Great place with nice staff, my friends and I have really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note is that the hotel is about 15 mins walk to the closest subway station. There is a bus stop near by, but the operating hours are shorter for buses.

This was our 2nd hotel during our 14 day trip through Japan. Overall it was our favorite; the cleanliness & location was great. The front desk has weird hours & the staff answering the phone was only Japanese speaking so it was a bit hard asking some questions but overall it wasn’t that big of an issue. Would stay again.

Loved our stay in ORI, the property is like new , the room was cleverly designed to have a mini kitchen abides the sitting area, bathroom has shower and bath. Amazing what they can fit into this small room. Also what i liked is that each bedside has a usb charging outlet for your convenience (i had issue with other hotels when sharing one converter with my kids, but in this hotel, we could charge our devices separately next to our bed). And all staff are very friendly and speaks English. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Overall okay experience, check in was online, quick and efficient. The location is in a residential neighbourhood, not much to do in surrounding area and lack of restaurants that were open late. We stored our luggage after checking out and it was safe. Front office staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about getting around which was very helpful as we were not near main Gion strip.
