The Royal Park Canvas - Osaka Kitahama

The property is conveniently located right above a subway exit and just a few stops from main stations like Namba and Osaka-Umeda etc. I also liked the fact that it's not in the middle of the touristy areas although that meant there are less shops around but there's still a Family Mart right downstairs. Check in and out was relatively hassle-free with self service check-in/out machines. The room is nice, clean and looks rather new with daily housekeeping although they did miss clearing out used teabags on one day. I took a room with a king-sized bed but it was actually just two singles put together, which meant I ended up only sleeping on one side of the bed as the middle bit was uncomfortable to sleep on. So maybe next time I would just take a single room. There is no water dispenser in the property and I had to go to the reception daily to get my daily ration of one bottled water (as I'm travelling solo), which to me was quite the hassle. I also stayed at Royal Park Canvas in Nagoya and they provided the usual 2 bottles of water daily in the room when they refreshed the room. I wonder about the inconsistent protocol between the properties. Also comparing with the Nagoya property, the range of amenities that you pick up at the reception are slightly different but that could be due to stock availability at the moment.

Clean, friendly staff

Staff was always friendly and greeted me. Also kindly showed me the proper behavior in the lobby, I thought I was able to sit in the lobby and eat my onigiri, but it appeared to be bad manners. I learned immediately and went somewhere else to finish it. I think as a foreigner it is also difficult to know all the etiquette, so I am glad to learn and change immediately. The facility is also very clean with all the ammenities that I want.

Room was spacious (by Japan standards), laundry could be monitored through the TV so we knew when it was free or in use, $1800JPY buffet breakfast was nice, but by far it was the location that really made this hotel shine! Kitahama Station had an entrance right beside theirs which we didn’t realize until the second night. I attribute this to the Family Mart being right under us, not to mention Lawson and 7-eleven one block away. Lots of coffee shops to choose from as well as a grocery store one station south under another hotel. Dotonbori street was a a 20 minute subway ride south, and it is everything you would hope for in a night market, and is even busy during the day, too! Will definitely book this hotel again!

Good location

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, train station right next to it, lots of shopping and places to eat at, overall superb

First time traveling to Osaka & choosing this hotel to stay at was the best decision.

It was a lovely hotel—dj the night I checked, the breakfast I bought was delish! Friendly & helpful staff. Wasn’t crazy about the location, but was happy they had laundry.

Very convenient to be right near subway station

Definitely the best place I've stayed at on my trip. Right above a train station entrance and a ten minute walk to several others, this place is in a super convenient spot and is good value for money

The rooms are ok, they're a little on the small side but not bad for Japan. We stayed at this hotel in 2019 and it was still new and in better condition as it was this time. The staff & service was very excellent,

Entry to subway station immediately outside front door. Convenience store on the other side of hotel entry. Lovely lounge,dining bar area beside hotel foyer. Unlimited access to the coffee machine in the dining area for guests. Wet area in the room was a good size ,shower head luxurious. We stayed in a 3 bed room which was a little cramped with even 3 medium suitcases and backpacks but manageable. On site laundry was excellent. Taxi's can be caught outside almost at anytime. Cleaners do an excellent job around the hotel. No hesitation to stay there again if in Osaka.

So much nicer and bigger than other hotels I've stayed at in Japan, and for a good price!

I had someone banging on my door at 4am, I assume it was the person in the unit next to me. The toilets flush automatically and I guess he was angry about one flush (???) I have no idea, I was not making any noise... I asked the front desk to move me bc I didn't feel safe next to this crazy Person. I was told a manager would get back to me. No one every did.

Incredible hotel, would highly recommend especially for the price. Breakfast was awesome, lounge area was really nice, and there’s several entrances to the station close by.
