We stayed in this hotel during Christmas. Everything was great. The hotel looks exactly like the photos. We had a reservation with half board and I must say that the food was varied and tasty. The staff was nice and helpful. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel during your stay in Madeira.

The rooms are big. The service is good. But coffee at breakfast is instant - watch out cause the beans on top of coffee machine suggest otherwise. You can get real coffee at the bar - paid extra.

I don't understand the review, the hotel is really old, rooms are old, food is manageable but if it was a restaurant I would not go back there. The worst coffee in my life, we bought our own and made it in our room. The view is great yes... but really that's it. For me this is a 1 star hotel due to the view.... other than that it's pretty disappointing.

There is no reliable mobile connection at the hotel, and they only offer WiFi in the lobby! The room lacks electricity sockets. The few they have are so badly positioned that they are almost unusable. This is ridiculous!

The hotel offers breathtaking views over the ocean. The bungalows are fairly old and not really modernized (including no WiFi) but spacious and kept neat and clean. Staff is extremely friendly. Food selection is not huge but good for the most part and often even fantastic (especially several of the traditional Madeiran desserts).
The calm location off the beaten path comes with a trade-off though. Without a rental car, your options are very limited (although that's true for much of the island).
I would definitely appreciate WiFi in the bungalows as cell reception is terrible.
