Terrible hotel. We only stayed a night and didn't even unpack our bags, but it was horrible. 1. BED BUGS. This was the biggest issue. We got woken up by bites at 2 am. I found, filmed and killed a bed bug. I had itchy welts for about a week. 2. Noise. The windows are not sound insulated. You will wake up multiple times at night. 3. Poor service. The manager on duty (in the photo) lied to me. In the morning I presented the dead bug, the video and the bites and asked for compensation for a sleepless night. The manager assured me he would take care of the issue, but never got back to me with anything. No longer responding to messages.

Hotel SOLAR PALMEIRS . Arrived at 10am. Room not ready until 16.30, on the move from 02.30.the manager of the hotel said he would do his best to get a room ready as soon as possible, so we went for a walk to get our bearings, got back to hotel at 11.00, the manager got a room ready for us, he went above and beyond for us, thank you very much. Staff were very welcoming. Room was nice. Food was average, they had to get some gluten free bread for my wife as she is a celiac. Shops] out off hotel down hill turn right, 5 to 10 minutes walk, Train ] out off hotel down hill turn left, 5 to 10 minutes walk. If you are looking for a relaxing kid free place, it would be perfect break. Would we go back, sorry to say no, it was to quiet for us, and at the same time it was relaxing. Plenty of things to do out side of Hotel.

I stayed there for a Week during a very sunny period. I was able to book the coolest apartment in the hotel - at the top 303. Each morning when i woke up i had my coffee on a sunny balcony where i enjoyed the view of the ocean, the sailing boats to the sound of the splashing ocean. The room was very plentyful and i felt very at home there. The Serivce at the hotel was outstanding, i was able to enjoy every second there because of this, starting from breakfast to the help of getting my clothes washed, which came up basically brand new - that's how good they are. The Location i think is what the biggest and best selling point of this trip because it's between Lisbon and a bunch of smaller cities that are aprox 20 mins each way from the hotel. I also had the chance to bump into the owner of the hotel who was a very nice and chatful guy. Over all i want to visit it next year if the conference i attended will be there happening as well or at least if i will plan on going to Portugal next summer. absolutely 15 out of 10. This will be a very opinionated review of our 10-day stay here at this hotel. Not that it is important, but we are from the States. The hotel itself is pretty nice. We were given a downstairs room with a patio but no balcony, which was a bummer, but it happens. The rooms itself are a bit dated, but in that sense, I think it fits with the age of the building. The bed was not too comfortable as it reminded me of a trailer mattress. A couple nights, we had a water leak from the A/C condensation line that was fixed ASAP when it would happen. But for the most part we were very comfortable with our room. Things break and things happen, and I compare that to owning our home as you never know when something is going to fail; fix it and move on. As for the location, to some, it may not be the most desirable, but to us, it was perfect. Yes, the road does separate you from easy access to the beach, but so what. there is a cross walk and / or just time it right and cross the road. It's that way up and down the coast. Paco De Arcos is pretty much in the middle of all the things you may want to walk too or drive too and when you are done for the day it is a relatively quiet and uncrowded place to return home to for the night. Yes there is a train that comes through and yes you can hear the road but after a day our so we were able to ignore it, and honestly we traveled so much and went to see as much as possible that we were hardly in our room. It was our vacation, so go see as much of Portugal and Spain as possible. The hotel offers free and safe parking for your rental car, which is also a nice bonus as trying to find parking anywhere else is near impossible without having to pay. I recommend renting the smallest car possible as the roads here are narrow and the driving style is aggressive but friendly and can be stressful at times. Now for the staff ! I wouldn't normally put anyone on the spot, but Elder and Antonio were the star of our stay here. We can not thank them enough for their hospitality. Helder especially with great conversation and insight of places to go and see. Not to take away from the rest of the staff who were also great, pleasant, and helpful with anything that we ever needed. The Hotel Solar Palmeiras is a great value for what it has to offer. After reading some of the other reviews from past guests, I honestly feel that individuals like that can never be happy with any services they receive in any setting. No place is perfect when you have such high personal expectations.

I stayed at this hotel with my family during a heat wave in the week of 18 August 2023 ... yes you're right the air conditioning didn't work. But the staff were amazing and they got a portable air conditioner which was placed in the downstairs living area and the sofa bed was made up for the kids to sleep. (Geezzz what did we do before the air conditioner 🙄! 😂) We spent 1 week at this hotel (so not an inconsiderable amount of time) and we loved it! Yes the air conditioning didn't work (which I was told by staff would in the future not be an issue due to the installation of split systems in the rooms for the summer of 2024). The staff were super lovely. Our beds were lovingly and careingly made each day with fresh linen and our room was clean and tidy. The bathroom towels were replaced and the bathrooms cleaned each day. He level of service at this hotel could not be faulted. The cabinets in the room and the bathrooms are out dated for sure ... but it takes a substantial amount of money to bring a hotel like this up to date. Every morning first thing we would have a swim in the refreshing waters of the swimming pool watching the sun rise across the hills and light up the Ponte de 25 Abril. Our breakfast was infallible (yes it's the same, so what I eat the same thing for breakfast most days and you probably do too). But there was always an assortment of cereal, fresh fruit (which was my personal favourite), croissants, bacon, eggs, ham cheese, breads, coffee, chocolate powder, juice and water and the list could go on. Their plates weren't massive but you could go back for food as many times as you liked (it's a short walk from the table to the buffet 😂 you'll be fine). Plus I liked their messaging behind doing so, they're right we as a consumerist society now waste more food than any previous generation and we should be more conscientious about our overconsumption and food wastage. I can absolutely recommend this hotel and in fact would stay again. For the price it is great value for money. And for the Karen's and negative Nelly's on here who didn't take in all of the positives of the experiences that I focused on ... well there's always the hotel literally down the road where you will pay 3 times the price of your stay here. Travel safe everyone and remember your experiences in life come down to what you chose to focus on ❤️
