Sorell Hotel Sonnental

Great hotel. Free breakfast buffet included. Only complaint would be lack of any type of air circulation with the window closed, so got a little stuffy at night when we closed the window to keep the outside noise gone. Enjoyed our stay!

I stayed for 1 night, and it wasn't enough to have a complete image but I can I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the very good breakfast and the free parking, which is super rare in Switzerland. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The room was very dirty and the bed was really really bad! Who puts a shelf in the corner of the bed for you to hit your head on?

Great location with top quality restaurant. We received a room in the basement which was not what we expected

Air condition and Fan are not available in the hotel and we felt too hot inside the room, therefore we could not sleep properly. It was completely a waste of money and my decision to book that hotel was wrong.

An excellent hotel, let down by the lack of air conditioning. AVOID during summer months. The hotel is easily reached from the Airport by taking the No 12 Tram. It has easy access to the excellent integrated Zurich public transport system. It is ideally located a short walk from the Samsung Hall event venue. My room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and good bathroom/shower. However, even with the large fan provided by the hotel the room was very hot and airless due to the lack of air conditioing, Breakfast was plentiful, with good coffee. The hotel cable has a good choice of channels including several UK channels

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is excellent. There is also a wonderful sauna and spa. It was really unfortunate that our visit coincided with a heatwave because there is no air conditioning!!! We were provided with a fan but as we did not have a window that could be opened significantly all that achieved was hot air being wafted around. We were particularly unlucky to be on the top (4th) floor so we had a fixed skylight that acted as a radiator 😩. Temperatures were as high as 35 °C outside and I can't imagine what the temperature was in the room. It was unbearable and made sleeping virtually impossible. The restaurant was also unbearably warm, but eating outside was often not an option as it was hard to get a table. Since there is also smoking permitted anywhere outside, it was also very unpleasant to eat, even inside near the windows. Our room was nice enough, but a huge area was take up by a non functioning open fire place, that whilst adding character, made the usable space quite limited. There was only one window that could be vented slightly and unfortunately it was on the balcony of the adjoining room, which meant we had people sitting directly outside talking and privacy was an issue. The bathroom was a good size but badly laid out. The shower was very small and could easily have been twice the size and water temperature and pressure variable so we were scalded or frozen alternately. More surface area is needed.
