Comfortable and convenient stay, Dee & the other team on reception where fabulous, helpful and friendly. Marque restaurant was great, good breakfast and coffee with friendly helpful staff and plenty of options.

I had a horrible nights sleep due to some kind of banging noise - like an opening and closing of a door - I alerted staff earlier that evening and asked if i could change rooms but there was no rooms avilable that night. I spoke to staff in the morning of this issue and they were kind and compassionate. Made me a coffee for my troubles and offered a complementry night stay for the terrible sleep i had, I got woken up at 5.30am and the banging was still going on around 10.30pm so I was so grateful and will give Oaks another try. Hopefully a better experience. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Will hope for a quieter room on my next stay.

Great staff that are willing to help as needed. The facility is in need of an overhaul but the location is great, easy walk to either Canelands shopping centre or MacKay CBD. The secure parking was great. We would definitely stay in the location again with three other hotels to compare prices with, River Oaks is worth a look if staying in MacKay.

Overall experience was disappointing. No wifi given apparent overuse by guests. Tried to phone reception, but phone had no dial tone. TV had limited usage in view of no wifi. Good breakfast and clean room.

While the staff were friendly and very helpful they were let down by the facilities.
We had a standard room so don’t expect the world but in a twin room there were only 4 coat hangers and 2 small bedside draws. No other draws or storage.
A microwave wave is provided but no cutlery, plates or bowels so unless you can heat in a cup and eat with your fingers - good luck.
The internet was nonexistent. Able to connect in the hallway but lost connection on entering the room. Able to get a perfect connection while out walking one street over though!
Somewhat disappointing I must say.

The receptionist was lovely. The room was sub standard for the price. It stunk of bleach, coming from bathroom sink. The tiles had dirty work boot prints all over them. The fans were covered in thick dust. The room was hot upon arriving and didn't seem to cool down. The bedrooms had better aircon. The balcony had 2 chairs and 1 small table. Room was booked for 3 people and slept 4. The dining table had rust and long time grim under glass. Only one of the 2 keys given to us worked. The pool has rubbish all around it. Loads in the garden beds.
On the plus side the beds were comfortable. For the price, I would stay elsewhere.
