Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Edmonton South by IHG

The room's decoration was quite dated- it seems that the decor hasn't been refreshed since the late 90s?? Having a microwave oven inside the room is convenient; however, it might be more helpful to have a kettle inside the room instead... I've been a long-time customer of the Holiday Inn express, and had been using your service all over the world. It's a bit concerning to see that Holiday Inn Express room that I stayed in 3rd world markets such as in Johannesburg in South Africa was much better decorated and equipped than this room in Edmonton in Canada...

Hotel was clean, nice place overall. Pool area is older and the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Food was really stale and inedible 1 hour in breakfast service.

Parking lot full of ice my old lady fell down. the pool and hot tub poor condition and it hurt our eyes and skin

Stay was great, staff friendly and helpful.

The front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, the pool facilities were clean, good parking!

Our room was located next to the staircase, and unfortunately every time someone used it, the door would slam shut,which startled us and disrupted our sleep. Additionally, the washroom didn’t have an exhaust fan.

It’s super close to the MIC Century Park for my 2 day procedure, convenient and near to Walmart, Jollibee etc. Hotel room we had was very clean, spacious and they have everything you will need if you don’t like eating out. They have fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We also got free breakfast and the food was good. They served different types of eggs, muffins and they also serve fruits, yoghurt etc.

Our stay was short and sweet. Overall, the hotel serves its main purpose. Location is easy and convenient. However, to the east of the building is a refinery, which was our lovely view and I could smell a strong odor. Even inside the hotel room. Could be loud due to the traffic and if your room is on that side facing the road. Beds were not the comfiest, well worn. But for a few nights its okay to put up with.

It was reliable

Loved the staff, very kind and accomodating. The pet fee was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The complimentary breakfast was awesome - access to complimentary coffee all day was a bonus. The standard 2 queen room was renovated and clean! Quite spacious too. The unfortunate thing was that when my husband took our 2 year old to the pool, he noticed the liner was floating off a few inches from the bottom. Even just looking at the pool, you can see the discoloration of the sides/bottom of the pool itself. The water also was a tad bit too cold for our daughter. The hot tub was decent but the hotel would benefit in upgrading their pool/hot tub area. Also noticed a few homeless/addicts loitering around the hotel area, especially the back parking lot so it made us a little uneasy to walk to and from our vehicle.

Cold shower with poor pressure. Even after letting the water run for almost 30 mins, it never warmed up . Also my truck was broken into in the parking lot

This location was chosen for us by a relative we were meeting for a birthday get together. Although it was a 10, the location was not close to our venues.
