The rooms were clean & staff were friendly. Unfortunately there was a hockey team staying there the same night that took over the pool area but that was not the staffs fault and they were accommodating allowing us access past closed to accommodate us.

After seeing all of the negative comments about this place before hand, we were sceptical of how our experience would be. I was very happy with our stay for two nights. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Breakfast had lots of eggs and sausages, plus waffles. Definitely worth the price. If you’re looking for a cheaper but clean hotel then this is the one. We will be back

Staff was very nice and greeted me when I entered the property. Easy check in and was able to help me check out a little later without any fee! Was not that busy and easy accessible to a lot of places

The pool was cloudy and dirty. The hot tub was very cold. I had to call the front desk because the conditioner and bodywash bottles were empty - when she did decide to answer the phone, she told me to go down and get more myself (which normally is fine but these should have been in my room and I had my 3 young children with me so leaving isn't as easy). She would answer the phone then put it right on hold but never come back. There was nobody in the lobby. Then I had to call at midnight because people were yelling and running in the halls (non stop since 7pm). I didn't mind...until midnight. Of course, the front desk person still wouldn't answer the phone.

No heating in the dining area, the breakfast was not replenished for the Monday and Tuesday (missing fruits and muffins) and our tv only worked half of the time. However, the staff was friendly and our room was clean which was the most important.

This trip was the second time our room was given away by the time we arrived. We were given a lesser room with no part refund. In the summer we booked a ground floor with patio door so we could bring in gear without disturbing all the other guests. When we arrived at 9pm the room was no longer available and the front desk said they did not see it.
This time we phoned ahead to remind them and to let them know we were arriving around 9pm. AGAIN the front desk took a key card and walked to check on a room then came back and said the room was not available. When I objected he too said he did not see it. Verbatim of the summer visit. I had the booking receipt to prove I booked a ground floor room with patio door , and they did see it and we called ahead this time. leading me to believe it is a small scam where you book on Expedia but when arrive are down sized with no refund.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the hotel isnt overly updated or clean. I saw a crawling bug beside the toilet this morning, looked like a cockroach? Not sure. I was very grossed out. Linen looked like it had yellow stains and it had black hair in the linen before i got into it.

Our stay was good. Hotel needs to keep up with renovations. My bed was slightly worn out, it had an indent in the middle. Other than that it was ok.

The staff was friendly. The room was nice for the price. My travel companion said the pool and hot tub were good, but the hours of operation are not great...open at 10am and closed at 10 pm. Not good if you want an early morning swim and does not give much time for a swim before 11 check out or the chance to access hot tub before bed. There is a free breakfast but unless you are an early riser it is over at 9am (coffee and juice available until 10, at least). My personal pet peeve is that the wifi does not work with most devices and if you are lucky enough to connect, it is dial up speed. Be prepared to tether off your phone. If you want to watch tv, be prepared to mess around for a half hour just to get cable on (the night desk do not have technical knowledge and there is no manual). Not a smart TV, so you can't pair your devices and no USB to plug in. On the upside, clean, friendly staff and good amenities in walking distance (Circle K, Indian Food, Pizza, Tim's, etc). If you are on a tight budget and want a comfortable bed, the best bang for your buck in Barrie.

Room was adequate and clean, but some really sketchy characters staying here. Had a number of "weird" interactions with guests. I feel there is a disproportionate number of transient people, or full time residents vs typical budget hotels.

Ive stayed here before and it was good. However, this recent stay in december wasn't the greatest. The only main issue we had was the heater wasnt working especially for being in the cold months now. Other than that, our stay was pleasant.
