First time staying at Mandarin Oriental in Shanghai, and what a great experience it was! Front desk staff, fast check in, consierge (forgot name of the Mr.) gave me all needed informations about the hotspots in city! Room, modern, clean and spacious with a nice view over the financial district and the river. Breakfast is diverse, Asian/European style. Gym area is superb, combined with 25m swimming pool, saunas, and massage facilities. Overall good value for the money!

great stay

Everything was perfect, except for the wifi. Service was excellent, especially from the various concierges we encountered. Chauffer service was wonderful and the facilities and cleanliness was tip-top. Location was great too! Nice short walk to Pearl of the Orient and Superbrand Mall. Amazing hotel!

What an incredible stay! Location is perfect since it'a walking distance to the Gala mall with tons of food options, and the surrounding is so clean and quiet. Incredible attention to details, from top to bottom. We got the lounge access room and it was amazing. The buffect breakfast is so conprehensive that my teenage kids both love it. The quality of food is incredible. The michelin 1 star restaurant on premise is really great too. Overall, this hotel had made our stay in Shanghai that much more impressive.

We had a free upgrade to a junior suite. The room's decor is very welcoming. Great service from the overall customer service team.

The hotel was on one of the best I have stayed in. Stayed for 9 days. The service was immaculate. I also had club room access which I highly recommend. Jem, Thomas, Stevie and the team offered us a fantastic and friendly service and made the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was fantastic, although 78 grill could improve the food being the only negative.

The reception guy is not professional. We stay 5 days 4 nights. We asked for a little higher floor, but we only offer the room on 6 th floor. If we need higher floor, we asked to pay more. The other 2 groups of guest behind us, get offer 10 th or above floor by another receptionist. I felt being discriminated. The room mattress is too old as we sit on the bed, we hear the spring sound. The pillows are not supportive. After a night we feel neck pain and lower back pain. There are a lot of aging marks on the room wooden floor . There many old marks on the room carpet too. Overall it makes you feel you stay at a 3 stars hotel. A morning we take the breakfast, the escort staff bring us to the table just next to the busy noodle counter. There are couples tables behind the front,we ask for the change of table but the staff refuses and say the tables are occupied. We have our breakfast over 40 minutes, all the behind tables are still empty. It makes me feel that kind of service is not match to the name of the hotel.

Everything I expected from this hotel, having stayed in other ones in various parts of the world. Great staff and facilities.

It’s my first time staying at a Mandarin Oriental property, and it definitely live up to the 5 stars reputation. We got a deal to the club room and splurge on the upgrade. The clubroom included breakfast, after tea, happy hour with hors d’oeuvres, and two pieces of laundry daily. We took full advantage of the club lounge, and especially impressed with The personal services of the lounge staff. Stevie at the lounge was extremely attentive, even Remembering the drink of choice of one of our group member! The buffet breakfast at Zest is impressive, Full of both western and eastern options. The staff was diligent, making sure all dirty plates are cleared off the tabled And drinks refilled despite busy breakfast service. The room is immaculate, spacious, Modern, with beautiful Chinese accents. The Bell staff are helpful, thank you Allen for Helping with my heavy suitcases, and calling for an extra van to take us to the subway. Thank you to the concierge staff to make sure all the packages arrived safely and delivered to the room. The only downside is the Hotel it’s a little far from the nearby subway station(17 minutes walk), But there is a free hotel shuttle available on first serve basis that can take you within 2 km radius.

This is a very beautiful hotel, close to everything. We had a river view room and that was spectacular. The room was large, very clean and well decorated. Definitely recommend this hotel

The building / room is as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. What really sets it apart is the incredible staff and remarkable breakfast. Worth every penny and the perfect place to stay if you would like to treat yourself in Shanghai.

Looks old, Wi-Fi doesn't work, the area around not convenient

Besides the brushing under the rug for a guest smoking in the room with their door wide open to the hallway, it was alright.
