Novotel Sheffield Centre

I’ve stayed in this hotel many times and loved it. This time my room wasn’t great. The place where you put your hotel card to get electricity in your room was broken, the air con control unit was broken off, there was red makeup on the side of my bed and when I used the bathroom sink the water took ages to drain away. I didn’t complain while I was there because I was only there for a short stay and I didn’t want the faff of changing rooms or I didn’t have the time. The bar staff were really friendly and the reception staff were ok.

I’ve stayed in this hotel many times and I really enjoy my stay. The majority of staff are really friendly and helpful. The room I was put in to this time was awful. The air conditioning unit was broke, A plug at the bedside was broke, the place where you put your room card for electricity was broken and the plug hole was blocked and the water didn’t go down very well. I do dc by report it while I was there because I was only there for a short stay and didn’t want the faff of having to pack up and change room etc.

Hotel is fine, breakfast is decent with some vegan options. Room quite clearly hadn’t been cleaned though - my son found an assortment of things on the floor as soon as we got in. A pound coin, some small toys, some nail clippings !

The room had an unpleasant odor, the staff appeared unwelcoming, and there was a noticeable lack of basic courtesy.

Beautiful lobby, but really old dated rooms which let it down. Breakfast was really good. The room itself didn’t match the high standards everywhere else. The toilet was in a separate room to the main bathroom, with no sink. The textured wallpaper in the room resembles the exterior walls of a 1980s house. Modernisation is definitely required. Couldn’t fault the location. Perfect for both the train station and the city centre

Quiet and clean hotel. Slightly dated in places but not an issue. Staff all polite and attentive. Will use again.

A great hotel with walking distance to the heart of Sheffield City.

Very good location , looking a little tired now. Breakfast was very poor , the sausages had bits of gristle in which was a right out off. Overall breakfast is a 3/10. Parking virtually next door , although no discount offered by the hotel, so it was a little on the pricey side. Location 10/10 overall 6/10 (£156 for the night for one person - Dec 2024)

I never made this booking. I didn’t stay at the hotel. You have taken my money (£96.00) and I would like it back.

Convenient location to Sheffield city hall

The hotel itself wasn’t the worse, however the rooms we so outdated, the service was terrible and it also wasn’t the cleanest. I won’t be staying here again & wouldn’t recommend. The toilet didn’t flush properly, the sink only drained slowly, the room was dusty and had a terrible smell and the thermostat wasn’t working so it was very warm in the room. I travel quite a lot and this wasn’t a good experience.

Somewhat understaffed but otherwise a good stay. There were a number of parties taking place and during breakfast there seemed to be 1 staff member rushing around to accommodate everyone in an overfilled restaurant. We had to take our breakfast into the bar! I was so impressed by that staff membets politeness and pace given the chaos, that I asked for her name, Aaliyah should someone at the hotel want to thank her for her amazing work!

Worst designed bathroom sink, the water spout is halfway rather than at the end with a very deep sink.

Convenient hotel, short walk from station.

Room was cold and heating didn't work. Toilet wouldn't flush.

Checked in and went to room and the bedside stands and table surfaces had not been cleaned and were all drinks spills on them so the surfaces weren't cleaned at all. I called reception and the man said when did you check in as if it was our fault. Told him just now and he told us to come back down to reception. When I did so he said I suppose I’ll have to change your room and seemed really put out. As we had a signed for our daughter he said that would have to be made up. I said when would that be as we were really tired and he said I don’t know when that would be. Again I said that it would be nice to know when and he huffed and puffed and said when someone could cover reception. He then arrived at room 10 minutes later to make it in total silence. I asked if I could have another quilt as they were very thin. He returned with one without cover on and gave us it to do and left again for in silence. been to a lot of hotels and I would say the attitude of this fella to customer just asking for a clean room which is just a basic requirement was rank. I would never stay at this hotel or any chain of it ever again. Rooms generally not of a standard you would expect. Carpets filthy and room very tired. Breakfast was good though. Glad we were only there one night. Would not recommend

Convenient location, well decorated lobby, friendly staff though could do with more on reception. Rooms are nice and spacious with large, modern TVs. Mini fridge for your own use was a bonus.

Clean. Friendly service.
