Excellent service.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Great restaurant, bar and room and fantastic service. Tasting menu was a real treat and well worth it.

Wonderful. Cannot rate eco friendly as no idea what is required. Bedside lights were not good for reading in bed and would have preferred squashy armchairs or sofa to the sit up and beg armchairs. Small criticisms. Food was exceptional and it was peaceful and quiet in gorgeous countryside.

We were going for a night away. It was convenient to drive to. The meal was very good and the service was also good. The waiting staff were very attentive at both the evening meal and breakfast. Beautiful countryside.

Great experience from start to finish

This is an unexpectedly wonderful place to stay and dine. It is very unique and exceptionally well done.

Beautiful renovated house and farm buildings dating back to the sixteenth century. Our room (2) was on the upper floor above the courtyard with high vaulted rafters and stone interior. Superb lighting options, excellent comfortable bed, two seater sofa, tea and coffee and wardrobe with plenty of hangers in the bathroom. It felt high quality and spacious. The bath was excellent with a rain shower over the bath. We went in winter but the courtyard had plenty of seating in little garden areas which would be lovely on a summer's day. The hotel lounge and dining room was excellent with the latter feeling like a grand small room in an elegant castle. Both dinner (tasting menu) and breakfast were first class. The area is remote (15 minutes from Ludlow) with some challenging driving in back lanes but it is stunning, offering lovely walks in the better weather. We felt well looked after and would not hesitate to return.

A hidden gem along a trail of lanes. Rooms, food and service of the highest standard. Not the cheapest, but excellent value and well worth it.

Faultless. Beautiful accommodation with the most comfortable of beds and an amazing shower. Just loved it. We also dined and we’re treated to real gourmet food. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

First rate experience from check-in to departure. The location, in the middle of a country estate, means it is quiet and secluded, and the meals are outstanding.

Very enjoyable in the main - lovely staff, great food and a comfortable room, but annoying heating /boiler noises during the night as though the heating or water system was constantly firing up for a couple of minutes every half hour.

Met all our expectations

Some staff not particularly welcoming or friendly. When leaving hotel would have been nice to have had a ‘did you enjoy your stay?’ Or ‘we hope you enjoyed your stay’ or anything nice really. Breakfast was nice and waitress service good. Room was clean and functional. Plenty of parking available.

All very good

Great place for couples wanting a quiet, relaxing location with great food and accommodation. The setting and buildings are lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. There are plenty of walks nearby in beautiful countryside if you're feeling energetic. The only thing I can think of which might improve the experience is that I would have liked a softer bed. Maybe a choice, depending on the room?

The lodge is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay, with superbly decorated rooms and helpful staff. The breakfasts are especially good (have the yoghurt, fruit and honey) and the atmosphere really makes it a special place to stay. We will defiantly be back.

A very enjoyable weekend spent at this lovely location. Staff are very friendly and helpful food is very tasty and overall a superbly run hotel where you are important.
