Big room, very clean and had everything that you needed. Bed was large but matress and pillows were both very soft so unfortunately to my liking. Has a nice little functional gym tucked away at the back of the site aswell. Grounds are large so you can have a nice stroll after food if needed. Food was nice and prices where reasonable so overall a great place. Would recommend.

We opted for a Superior Feature room and were given the Derbyshire Suite for our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the bath tub in the room made it just a little extra special. The room came with the usual essentials - coffee/tea making facilities, shampoo/shower gel etc. we brought our own bath bubbles. Breakfast each morning was buffet style with a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt and hot English fry up items, as well as a selection of fruit juices and hot drink options. Only gripe I have is we were woken both mornings by the sound of the tv in the room the other side of our bed wall and there were a few cosmetic imperfections (there was a crack by the windowsill and the bathroom door handle was loose, but it wouldn’t stop us staying again. Would like to try out the spa next time. Overall really nice hotel, friendly staff upon checking in and out.

Great hotel, bespoke rooms give the property a real charm, getting from recpetion to room was the only negative, up and down different staircases and long walk through narrow corridors with steps and ramps, not ideal if you have heavy wheeled luggage

Hotel was ok, however no cooked breakfast as there was no chef to cook it. Offered us a complementary latte however could make with oat milk could have this due to allergy

Poor experience. Stayed for 1 night last night and couldn’t wait to leave this morning. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and the duvet was too small and was damaged. Room was freezing all night, the radiator must have been on a timer that couldn’t be changed. Could hear music all night through the floor. Bath was in the room (strange) but had no bath products to go with it. TV remote didn’t work. Blind/curtain combination looked hideous and couldn’t put the blind up. Wanted to go into the bar in the evening but it was dark and freezing so didn’t bother. Food was reasonable in the evening at the restaurant but staff didn’t know what dishes were on or off, lots of complaints on other tables. Breakfast was pretty average, don’t go near the hash browns or sausages, these were rank. Thought we could use the spa pool when we booked it but we couldn’t because we got told on arrival that you had to pre-book, which was disappointing. Whole hotel needs a complete overhaul in regards to decoration and layout. Overall very disappointed with the experience and definitely won’t be going back here. One to avoid.

Unfortunately the heating in our room was not working properly. Reported the issue, but it still wasn’t working properly the next morning. So we had a very uncomfortable night wearing extra clothes in bed . Other than this the hotel its self is set in lovely grounds, and offers a variety of spa treatments.

Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was very tired with cracked and loose floor tiles with crumbling grouting. Had to keep asking for shower gel as originally only1 small pot provided for 2 people. Breakfast was busy and staff couldn’t keep on top of items running out so lots of waiting around for milk, bacon, bread for the toaster etc.

Freezing cold. Terrible service. Rude staff. Unexpected despite reservation and calling to confirm prior to arrival. 2 rooms booked together & 1 was sent to an outbuilding on top of the main road as hotel was at capacity. Bar ran out of wine.Room lacked listed amenities. AVOID!!

Came here for a change as we visit chesterfield a lot to see family. A nice welcome from reception quick and easy check in. Nice large corner room with garden views, clean room, abit worn round the edges but pleasant. Dinner was tasty in the restaurant also breakfast was plentiful and the staff were really helpful and friendly Plenty of parking and a couple of EV chargers There were a couple of issues with the room however once reception was told all was good when we returned so thumbs up from me We both enjoyed the hotel and I bet in spring/summer the garden will be glorious. It might become our goto place when visiting

Really lovely location, convenient for Chesterfield and Chatsworth (25 min drive) which was the purpose of our visit. The room was spacious and comfortable in the Coach House part of the building. My only niggle - and this is very much first world problems - was that it would be handy to have bedside plugs. The only accessible plug in the room was near the kettle. Otherwise we had excellent service, a good meal in the evening and the spa facilities were lovely!
