Hotel Frank since 1666

Room was great and the staff helped me carry my bag, which was very appreciated. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear a lot from the other people in/around the building, but that’s to be expected with such an old building so it’s okay.

Clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. Gave it a “3” rating because the room was very dark-my husband had to shave using a flashlight even with all the lights on. Internet was fine the first day, then spotty the next two days. They offered us a different room but we couldn’t imagine it would be different. When we asked for a discount, they refused to discuss it and said it was probably our devices.

My stay was pretty below par and expected more to be honest. I was staying in one of the basement flats in the hotel which isn’t the rooms that are provided in the photos - no natural light and even the lights in the room would frequently not work or I’d have to turn on manual strip lighting instead which feels pretty lame Safe’s didn’t work, which isn’t a huge issue but goes to the principle that there was a lot of small things that didn’t feel right with the place that didn’t make it an enjoyable experience I Ended up leaving the hotel earlier to go elsewhere. For the room that got and the price I paid per day, there’s much better hotel options out there

Property was close to museums and other places like flower market. But stairs narrow and winding and offensive photography on the walls of the room. Poor lighting in the room.

Given the very positive reviews, we were disappointed. Perhaps the hotel is recently under new management. A/C did not work adequately; staff said they would fix it, but they did not. Nighttime staff barely spoke English (or Dutch). Can be loud from bars, restaurants right outside the windows. Very good location.

I was excited about hotel frank based on the photos and location. I was so dissatisfied by the state and size of the room when I arrived. It is clean and the location is great. But the rooms and small and dark and run down. There was a banging/clanging pipe sound all night long that kept me up. Hotel staff said it was the radiator pipes. Hotels.com helped me get a refund and I moved hotels for the rest of my stay. Found a cheaper hotel (and nicer) a few blocks away.

Right in front of Waldorf Astoria hotel and near starbucks Bank volt landmark but my room was super small, I felt like Ann Frank and the stairs quite stip. liked location. One side fancy the other side super busy near Rembrandt Square.

A lovely old hotel. Room was quiet and beautiful. A little quirky but it’s an old place and every effort has been made to make it comfortable. The staff was outstanding. Helped lug suitcases up steep stairs. We’d go back again.

This is a lovely family run hotel, in a great location close to restaurants and within easy walking distance of all of Amsterdam’s best sights. Our room was on the third floor, and at first glance it was a little disconcerting. The stairs are very steep, and that was worrisome. However, our bags were carried up for us at check in and back down when it was time to go, so we needn’t have worried about that. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a nice big shower which we appreciated. The negatives (for us) were the low beams and the single, small, window which made the room feel a bit claustrophobic at times. Having said that, we were aware we were staying in the attic of a 348 year old building, and the uniqueness of the situation somehow outweighed the negatives. If you’re over 6’ tall or have any mobility issues, then this room wouldn’t be for you. Otherwise, it’s a property you should check out.

This hotel is a scam. The worst money I’ve ever spent. This hotel room cost €500 per night and is worth maybe 100. We stayed at hotel estherea down the street and paid less money for a hotel that is easily ten times nicer. The room at Hotel Frank was up 3 extremely narrow flights of stairs that we could barely get our bags up. The room itself was dark, poorly lit, with only one small window. The wooden beam are so low I hit my head on the way in. I asked for a refund since i was not told about the stairs and since i was too big for the room and could barely see anything. They said it wasn’t possible, so I asked to speak with the manager and they said that’s not possible either since he is “not in Europe.” He said there is no mention of an elevator on the website so I should have known there would be only stairs… The guy at the front desk was very nice, but the lack of management, false marketing, and ridiculously high price point made this the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

We got room 105 I believe, the stairs are very steep and dangerous. The room was cute but those stairs aren’t worth the cuteness of the room. It feels like a ladder that was transformed into stairs.

It was really cool for being able to stay in the almost 400-year old building. The location was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was very quiet at night due to the dual pane windows. Highly recommended .

Excellent location near Rembrandt Square in a building from 1666. We selected the attic room, which had delightful beams and a VERY steep staircase. The toilet and shower were very nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the hotel was quiet. Highly recommend!

No lifts but hotel staff will carry your luggage to your room. Great location - near to restaurants and walking distance to attractions
