Hotel Zetta San Francisco

Really friendly staff and comfortable stay

Loved the space. It had a few issues with the hidden fees such as WIFI being an additional amenity and having a destination fee for the hotel being in a not so clean area of San Francisco.

I checked in late and staff didn't want to open the locked door, despite having a backpack and suitcase! Definitely a bad first impression. I get it, as this part of SF is sketchy, but it was less than friendly. Otherwise place was fine.

Not a great location (people yelling across the street kept me up all night); you have to ring to be let in at the front door and none of the staff ever seem to be paying attention; stains on the bedroom furniture, views of alleyways. Can’t recommend I’m afraid

The staff were AMAZING and super helpful. Did absolutely everything to ensure that my stay was perfect. Thank you so much :)

Right on the edge a very bad area but felt safe coming and going. My only complaint is an added surcharge that was not disclosed when I booked the room

Despite an almost perfect location (you can get anywhere on public transport from here), the hotel was disappointing. Generally the hotel is not effectively staffed. First, it advertises "valet parking," but in fact there is no staff for this and no place to pull to the curb. You have to leap out in traffic, flag down the registration staff, and wait for them to send for the staff of the garage. How to know this is the case was a puzzlement, and god help you if you are traveling alone and must just abandon your car to flag down the staff . Second, although there is restaurant on the hotel's website, on the night I arrived (kean not to leave again), the restaurant was closed for a private party. The lobby bar was sometimes open sometimes not. The rooms were clean but only a step above airbnb-level design - lots of blown-up photographs of books and record albums on the walls but otherwise you might be sleeping in an IKEA.

Our stay at Hotel Zetta was a difficult one. We were greeted by several vagrants being ushered away from the front door to the hotel, which was guarded by security and locked. Our check in was straightforward. The room itself was fine, with a strange layout - unfortunately the room looked into an alleyway which also had several homeless people visibily using drugs. We did like the bed and the cable channels were good, but we could not understand why we had been charged a nightly holding fee for an empty minibar and closed on site restaurant facilities. Why charge us if there is nothing to spend the nightly holding fee on? What really agitated us was a pair of earrings were left behind at the hotel, and no one from the hotel has had the courtesy to call us to update us as to the return of the items. We notified the hotel shortly after checking out, meaning only hotel staff have been in the room. 5 calls and 3 emails later, Zetta staff continue to ignore us. Hotel staff have clearly taken the jewellery and are refusing to contact us as a result. At least the taking of the items is on brand for the surrounding area! I would not return to the hotel and reiterate my disappointment at the poor service experience. For a hotel relying on service to overcome its challenging surroundings, you would expect better.

It was close and convenient to the venue I went to. Only issue was that initial room assigned had an issue with the lock set so that you could open the door without the key. I switched rooms since it was going to take an hour or so to fix it. The room was smaller than the original one and the water pressure wasn't the best in the shower. The room was clean and didn't hear any street noise. I was only in the room to get ready and to sleep so it fit my needs. Staff was nice.

The front desk person was a little bit cold but overall the hotel was beautiful.

Excellent place

Area around hotel and north are good and even has the trolley cars to ride and see how they turn around. John’s steak and seafood also very nice. All cities have trouble spots although it seemed less of an interaction Then you would find in NY.

Really terrific, cool place to stay. I'd like to give a shout out to Paris and the rest of the reception staff -- support helpful and friendly.

I booked this hotel because my husband and I were going to a concert at The Warfield and this hotel had decent reviews and close to the theater. Upon arriving I was very nervous about the homeless and the area. I asked the guy at the front desk, Paris, about the area and the safety factor. He talked to me about it and he was right, nothing to worry about. Paris was excellent at the front desk! The hotel itself was also great. Clean rooms. The hotel wasn't loud with people and the AC worked well. There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel where we are for happy hour.

The valet was not good. They didn’t get my friends car and couldn’t get ahold of the valet people. She had to get a taxi home. And a taxi back. Both of which the hotel said they would reimburse her then tried to not pay! I paid for a valet service that didn’t even work. Then the hotel said they would refund my valet and send email confirmation. I have not received either!
