The location, cleanliness, safety and food were amazing. The breakfast is a 10/10 every morning with gluten free cake and lactose free yogurt and milk options. It lasts until 1pm which is awesome if you have jet lag. The menu has everything translated in English. The cleaning staff was trust worthy and I didn’t feel the need to hide anything. The service was awesome, especially from Gyazi.

Nice sized rooms at a decent price. The rooms were very clean. Good selection of breakfast and a convenient location. Good amount of parking but the ticket system to pay for it each day is annoying for foreigners. Would be much easier to bill it to the room than to pay the ticket every time you need to leave.

Stayed here for a night before I flew back home. I’ve never left a bad review before, but felt I needed to in this instance. This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel, it’s maybe a 3 star hotel being made out to be a 4 star. The staff was pleasant, but the amount of broken and cheap appliances in this hotel was quite surprising. Just within our room, the shower head and hair dryer were broken. Even worse was the presence of some allergen or bacteria (it’s possible that it could be the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease) in the vents. Upon turning the AC on later in the day, my girlfriend immediately started to fall ill with symptoms of congestion, headaches, and a cough. Upon leaving the room her condition immediately improved. We noticed other people with similar symptoms at breakfast. We realized she was in the room throughout the day and was totally fine and only started feeling horrible after I turned the AC on at night. Whether it’s just dust/allergen build up in the vents or something much more dangerous (bacteria) this is 1) Dangerous and 2) Something you wouldn’t expect at any hotel, let a lone a “4 star hotel”. This should probably inspected by somebody. The only saving grace that is totally outweighed by all the other negatives is the food. The breakfast was great and so was a lunch we had at the hotel. However, for the lunch we were the only people in the restaurant and ended up waiting 50 minutes for the food. The food would be the only 4 star quality this hotel has. Otherwise, everything is 3 or 2 star worthy. With all that said, whether you’re visiting from abroad or you are Brazilian, stay at a different hotel close to the airport. Especially if you are elderly or you have a compromised immune system. Hope this helps those of you who read it! The ultimate reason this gets one star from is the air vent dilemma.

5 min walk to the airport but a shuttle is also available. Good sized room, clean and tidy. Easy check in and check out. Refreshing swimming pool. Didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment on it.

I stayed at Nototel for one week April of 2012 while visiting family in Porto Alegre. I really enjoyed my stay. The lobby and breakfast area looked new and clean. Very well appointed. I enjoyed a very nice breakfast buffet every morning. It was also nice that there is a bar in the lobby. I plan to stay again this next year.
