Stayed here for a night before I flew back home. I’ve never left a bad review before, but felt I needed to in this instance. This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel, it’s maybe a 3 star hotel being made out to be a 4 star. The staff was pleasant, but the amount of broken and cheap appliances in this hotel was quite surprising. Just within our room, the shower head and hair dryer were broken. Even worse was the presence of some allergen or bacteria (it’s possible that it could be the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease) in the vents. Upon turning the AC on later in the day, my girlfriend immediately started to fall ill with symptoms of congestion, headaches, and a cough. Upon leaving the room her condition immediately improved. We noticed other people with similar symptoms at breakfast. We realized she was in the room throughout the day and was totally fine and only started feeling horrible after I turned the AC on at night. Whether it’s just dust/allergen build up in the vents or something much more dangerous (bacteria) this is 1) Dangerous and 2) Something you wouldn’t expect at any hotel, let a lone a “4 star hotel”. This should probably inspected by somebody. The only saving grace that is totally outweighed by all the other negatives is the food. The breakfast was great and so was a lunch we had at the hotel. However, for the lunch we were the only people in the restaurant and ended up waiting 50 minutes for the food. The food would be the only 4 star quality this hotel has. Otherwise, everything is 3 or 2 star worthy. With all that said, whether you’re visiting from abroad or you are Brazilian, stay at a different hotel close to the airport. Especially if you are elderly or you have a compromised immune system. Hope this helps those of you who read it! The ultimate reason this gets one star from is the air vent dilemma.
