Upon arrival to the hotel, staff were patiently waiting at the entrance building, greeting guests and go all the way to our car at the car park to help with the bags. The hotel has good English speaking staff. This makes our stay even more pleasant as the staff was able to explain the Japanese meals in details during dinner. The room was comfortable for a night stay. Although the onsen is quite small, it was still comfortable for a good hot bath during a cold winter night.

The staff are very friendly, they make you feel at home. The place is somewhere in the mountains. It is peaceful and quiet. A good place to relax especially in the open area hotspring.

This is a good resort for winter skiers. It has a very good Onsen. In autumn there is little to do. The hotel does not even have a coffee shop. The neighbourhood is deserted with no restaurants close by and only a couple within 5 km. Dinner is Japanese very good with a variety of menus for 3 days running. Would go there again if there was snow.

Staff was very friendly to check where we were so that we wouldn’t miss our delicious dinner. Hida beef was magnificent & also the rest of the food (served in the format of half buffet). Located in the middle of a mountain in Takayama, so if you prefer the quietness, you should spend somet time here! And we were lucky enough to still see snow falling down

A very good hotel to choose if you are driving to Takayama! Its in the mountain area which gives you a different feel of the area from Takayama/Shirakawago The breakfast served is good and hotel staff are very friendly! Ask them for nearby food recommendations, they helped direct me to a small homey restaurant that was my best meal in Japan! The onsen is true to picture as well! Very beautiful

Maya and all staff are fantastic. The onsen facility is one of the best with 100% natural mineral water. Local dining experience is unforgettable. Hotel room is very clean and well-taken care of. Highly recommended if you go visit unesco glassho house at shirakawago and Bokka farm.

The room itself is actually quite comfortable. However, the ensuite is ridiculously small compared to the room. It is really the size of the bathrooms in cruise ships, whereas the rooms are big enough to have 2 single western beds plus a tatami mat area which fits both a futon bed and tables and chairs comfortably. The room and ensuite could have been better planned. Pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The faucet knobs are also quite grimy, considering that this hotel is in Japan. Service is great though (many thanks to Maya for being so patient with my parents' requests). Dining crew was really attentive! I did wish there were more food choices rather than just kaiseki meals and the same limited-choices of buffet daily.

The star attraction of my stay was the lovely staff who were all very polite (of course) and eager to help. Though it is in a fairly remote area, I can imagine how beautiful it would be in fall and winter, when there are autumn leaves and snow covered hills. You also get to see wild raccoons (and more) wandering around the area. The food was great, a mix of kaiseki (set meals) and a small buffet (tempura veggies/miso soup/rice/drinks). My group had a few dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate us. The rooms were simple, with ensuite baths and toilets, but the onsen (though small) was fairly modern and well equipped. They provided cleanser, toner, lotion and soaps. It's about an hour's drive to takayama city, and great for couples looking for a quiet getaway.
