Nice private hotel, a must for "old movie buffs" as there's some great memorabilia around the place, and in the room. Breakfast good and cooked to order. Parking good and friendly owners.

We booked to stay while doing charity bike ride. Hotel first agreed to give us breakfast at 7am - then later said it would not be possible until after 7.30 - the time we had to leave. They literally could not be bothered to get up 30 minutes earlier to serve their guest. We asked about a late checkout so we could shower after the 100K ride. we asked for 1 hour (from 11.30 to 12.30). They said no - would be too much trouble for them. Zero hospitality, charmless and no interest in service or future bookings - especially if it was a minor inconvenience. Its people like this that give the UK small hotel industry a bad name.

it needed a good hoover, and seemed a bit neglected. The house itself was beautiful.

I booked here for two nights as I couldn't get into the Novotel for the week. I had a lovely room. Very clean with everything you need. I moved to the Novotel and wished I stayed put. The Novotel was red hot with no way to control the heat and very noisy! The Bentley Tower may not suit all but a decent night sleep and a good breakfast (they even bought in some skimmed milk for me) is what you need when working away. The personal touches of a privately owned place also make a difference. I'll definitely book again.

This is our second stay at Bentley Towers and it was clean and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the gardens are lovely. The film posters are a lovely touch. Would highly recommend

I'm afraid I didn't enjoy my night at the Bentley Tower Hotel. It started with a very 'curt' greeting which I found unwelcoming. The public areas of this small family run hotel are not unattractive & have a warm and homely feel. The single bedroom that I had however, was Spartan. The furniture, and fittings were cheapest and most basic, as were shower (no bath), WC & sink. As well as being basic, fittings were all very old. WC seat was stained an obscure colour all around the rim - most disconcerting! The room had been badly decorated over the years & looked very tired. Despite the aforementioned comments, I'd have to say that the bed was comfortable and the sheets and pillow were clean and the linen of good enough quality. The room could accurately be described as 'clean'. I did have a comfortable night's sleep, and as I was on a 1 night business trip, this was my principle expectation (although all movements in adjacent rooms were clearly audible). For the price I paid, I didn't expect the Ritz - but I've come to expect a reasonable standard for this level of price (a la Premier Inn/Holiday Inn Express etc). My rate did not include breakfast (on offer for extra charge). I didn't participate in this as I had a desire to leave at the earliest opportunity.

A great hotel that I would fully recommend - each room is unique with huge pictures of Hitchcock & Rock Hudson films etc adorning the walls. Friendly staff and the full english breakfast was perfect.

Forced into a last minute booking I was slightly concerned as I normally stick to the well known chains but I have to say I have nothing to complain about. It was well worth what I had to pay and the host was friendly and helpful. I would use it again if I have the need to stay in Ipswich again.

The framed film posters on all the walls spoiled the look of a grand old house

I felt a somewhat curt 'greeting' followed by disappointment of a very shabby bathroom with cracked bath, toilet on a plinth (making normal bodily functions uncomfortable, at best) and greying towels with some marks on. The partition wall had nil sound-proofing and so every movement of the guest next door is clearly audible. Breakfast had one, unfeasibly well-cooked bacon in comparison to one less so - I'm suspicious that one was re-heated from a former meal? The tablecloth carried the residue of those who had used it before too.

I absolutely loved stayed at the Bentley Tower Hotel! Beautiful and clean, located just a bit outside the center but still within walking distance. The staff is so warm and helpful! Breakfast was not included in the price but is quiet good and more or less reasonably priced. All in all I had a great stay and would definitely come back!

This is a wonderfully clean and hospitable hotel with the great advantage of an exceptional display of iconic film posters. All aspects of your care have been thoughtfully provided for. I have already recommended it to family and friends.

I stayed at Bentley Tower Hotel. I like it very much. It is very clean and the service is over excellent. I have only one advice to tell the owner if you do some maintenance. New paint, new curten and new young man or women to take care of the decoration. It will be great to spend some money on the maintenance. I will pay more if I come next time. fouad HAF
