Smashing Boutique style hotel. Extremely good location. Make sure you get room with a view or a balcony. Maybe the best view in Lisbon! Very efficient and friendly staff, happy to oblige. Very tasty breakfast, in lovely setting. Nice to sit outside in the courtyard and watch the busy world go by!

Pousasa Alfama is a great hotel just out of the center of tourism traffic at a high point of Alfama. Reasonably quite at night, and great sun rises over the Tigus River. They have an excellent breakfast (extra charge unless part of your package). I loved eating breakfast on the outside patio. The staff is great. Our bed was firm, more firm than we care for, and the pillows were not our favorite. Room 417, the junior suite has pigeons that roost in the corner, so you hear them as soon as the sun starts to display. The hotel is also out of the beaten path, so you will need to either be prepared to walk hills or use transportation. We walked everywhere. We put in 20K steps and day. A few thousand were departing and returning to the hotel. I would stay here again.

If you’re traveling to Lisbon and you’ve decided to stay at Pousada Alfama, be aware of the fact that ALL beds are only 55”x79” - 140x200cms, which means that if you’re two large adults there’s just no way you’ll fit comfortably. Don’t even try to request a twin bed, there’s no such thing at this hotel.

The hotel and common areas are lovely. Excellent location. The staff are charming, helpful and professional. The breakfast was excellent. The little gifts are charming. The room is badly designed. It is too small for a couple travelling with a couple of cases. There is little space to unpack, there is no floor space to leave the cases. I suppose ideal for a weekend break, carry-on only, not for people like us on a long tour. We were at the back. There was no noise from outside, however there is no sound insulation between rooms. I can tell you when next door charged their phones! We heard and felt it on the wall. Why such a big tv? No one goers to Lisbon to watch TV. And it dominates such a small room. Also, the whole floor would hear. The curtains are too narrow. It is impossible to make the room fully dark. Not a great choice for a new couple, wanting a romantic break. The decision to use a hollow sliding door to the bathroom means that every bathroom experience is shared !

Such a fantastic location, lots of great food and shopping in the neighborhood, yet the hotel is a quiet oasis. Thank you to Carla and the kitchen team for such a wonderful breakfast each morning and thanks also to Liang for great restaurant recommendations. This is a wonderful, super clean, modern hotel, thank you for your care.
