Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, an IHG Hotel

Not a big fan of valet-only parking. But the property was very nice and clean. The amenities were up to date. I was impressed with the HVAC system being an actual heat pump in the ceiling instead of the cheap, stinky wall units most hotels have. The bed wasn’t as firm as we’d like but better than most. The walk-in shower was really nice other than water getting in the floor. My fiancé and I are very picky about hotels and their appearance for a number of reasons, and we were impressed. The valets and staff were also top notch. Thank you for making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable!

Check in was a bit of a mess

I previously stayed at this hotel for a business trip in December for over a week and had an OK experience. I elected to rebook the hotel as it is conveniently located for work. While in my Uber after landing around 10:45pm I received a phone call that they were having an “issue” and needed to book me elsewhere— they would “text me an address shortly” I was already on my way to the hotel and to receive this message at that time of night is entirely unreasonable and unacceptable. I received a text that I was rebooked at a Marriot. This location was no longer convenient for me walking to work. Additionally, upon arrival, this was not a Marriot hotel nor was it the same quality as the Sylvan. The front desk also let me know that this was due to an overbooking. Again, unreasonable and unacceptable to not give me an option on where I would stay or at minimum provide an upgrade. When I responded to the message they agreed that this hotel was not a comparable hotel and also that this was due to overbooking (thanks for lying to begin with). I also requested to have a call from a more senior hotel manager and have yet to receive that. Horrific customer service and experience after a day of travel. I can’t in good faith recommended anyone book this hotel.

The Kimpton Sylvan is a great hotel in a great place! The roof top bar is a must and there are many great spots within walking distance. We'll definitely be back!

Check-in valet parking was awful - front desk & valets seemed to be fighting & they had lost tickets to be able to valet our car. Extortionate pricing at $100 for 2 nights parking on top of a $350 / night room. No water in the room very odd & charged $7 for a small bottle. Nice location, but won’t be back.

Staff is exceptional. So friendly and caring

Heating wasn’t working in the room, so it stayed at 14C during my whole stay. Management offered free breakfast to make up for the jnconvenience

The air in the room didn’t work & They lost our car key in valet parking. Overall it was an ok stay

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sylvan property. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. Elliot took very good care of us at check in as well as Princess. Also, the valet staff was the best I’ve ever experienced in Atlanta. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will surely stay again!

I have stayed at this hotel now 4×3 to 4 times I got the same room which I think is one of the smaller rooms that they have. Still very well appointed just small the other visit I got a larger king room. It was a bit more comfortable. But the staff is great. They’re helpful their friendly. It’s right in the middle of everything. Great hotel great environment. The only drawback is the rooftop bar. Being directly across the street from one of the best rooftop bars in Atlanta this rooftop bar is lacking in space and ambience and in the level of service and the level of the drinks.

The hotel is very nice and has a very professional staff. But seem to be undertaffed, especially at the valet.

Pillows and mattress very poor quality no coffee making machine in rooms Dangerous area. Loud cars in neighbourhood. Couldn't sleep at all all Rude staff as always in Atlanta (airport and any business not this hotel in particular) People never heard of concept good customer service

Nice gym and the restaurant is very good

Property is nice but it’s not well maintained and not well managed. Staff are overly casual and not very attentive. They stand around and chat at the reception desk. It feels like no one runs the place. Did get nice service in the restaurant for breakfast.

There was terrible water pressure and no hot water. Liked the staff and property but will not stay again because of the that.

Loved our stay! Staff was helpful. Property was very nice. Rooms was clean. We would definitely stay again!

It was great. The staff was kind and attentive. Made hot chocolate for my daughter, received drinks and a gift upon checking in, the pool was nice, the gym was clean and we loved our stay.

I have stayed here many times, the staff is always so welcoming, even more that 5 star hotels. They always text to make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend and will be back
