We came to The Shepherd's Inn for a quick overnight getaway from Pittsburgh. Innkeeper Heidi and her Corgi, Kiki, were lovely hosts. The inn is under new ownership as of this summer and it seems that they have been hard at work making improvements! The house has some lovely antique tile work and furniture and interesting artwork, some of which is from local artists. We stayed in the Marjorie Ellen room, which was spacious and comfortable. Heidi asked us the night before what we wanted for breakfast and it was delicious--local tea, farm fresh eggs, bacon, and sausage, and homemade biscuits and scones! She also had tons of suggestions for things to do in the area. We would certainly stay here again...and now that we know they are pet friendly, bring our dog with us!
Our stay at the Shepard's Inn was very enjoyable. First, it was incredibly convenient as we went to Washington Pa to visit our son who is a student at Wash & Jeff College and this property is walking distance to campus; Second, the house itself is full of character and quite beautifully majestic. It is warm and inviting; it is as private or communal as you want your experience to be. Third, and most important, the people who own and operate the property are so kind, friendly and delightful and want to make sure that every aspect of your visit is comfortable and every one of your needs is met. I strongly recommend the Shepard's Inn.
