Forest Temple and Wildlife Sanctuary in Tabanan
Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest is a nutmeg forest and temple that serves as a sanctuary for the gray long-tailed macaque. This forest is located in the village of Kukuh in the Marga District of Tabanan Regency, about 25 km drive northeast from the provincial capital of Bali, Denpasar.
Tourists are usually accompanied by a guide organized by the local community, to ensure visitors can enjoy the atmosphere safely without being disturbed by monkeys and share stories about the history of Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest and the monkey population. Guests can take pictures with the monkeys and offer food to attract the friendly native monkeys along the trails in the middle of the forest and towards the exit
