Welcome to Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi Georgetown, Penang, which was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage Listing in July 2008. With its long illustrious history and beautiful architecture, the Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi clanhouse is an icon Heritage Conservation. It is also known as the Heritage Jewel of Penang, which comprises the majestic clanhouse, an opera stage, a courtyard and 4 rows of residential terrace houses. In 2006, Khoo Kongsi was proud to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the clanhouse, that was rebuilt after the original building was destroyed by fire in 1901. It is a building rich in architecture and heritage. It must not be missed out in any heritage tour of Penang. It was once a beacon of hope for the Khoo clansmen who made their journey from China to the promised new world of Malaya. The clanhouse now serves as an excellent example of heritage conservation and restoration.
