Review based on email communication in regard to water damage in the bathroom and a roach being found. Email response was very dismissive offering no apology or rectifying the situation. In years of staying at hotels, this was maybe the second time ever finding a roach in a room. Staff on property was friendly. Besides that nothing positive about this property. Food and drinks on site are not good. Condition of amenities are outdated. Overpriced daily parking. Parts of hotel are an ice box, while others too warm.

I recently stayed at this hotel and resort and it was not exactly what I expected. I expected something a bit more high end. The property has two sides and you have to be very, very careful when booking a reservation at this hotel. One side is where the main entrance is, with the check-in desk, the restaurants, the valet, this hotel is decent (Sinibal). The other side (Cativa) hotel looks deserted. It is very dirty, it looks like no one has stayed there in years and they tried to get us to get a room on that side and thankfully I said NO. The check-in person a plus size blonde woman lied to us. She said she was upgrading us from the main hotel to the second hotel. It was not an upgrade. It was a downgrade. She lied even more stating that the second hotel that was dirty and deserted had the restaurants, etc. But that was not true the main hotel, where the check-in is is the better side and I am glad we were able to get a room there because I would’ve been extremely disappointed and probably would have left The overall hotel needs an upgrade. It looks like they need to update the furniture in the rooms. They’re all damaged beaten up. They just need to do a renovation overall for the entire property. There are so many other nice hotels. I probably won’t be staying here again, but I’m glad I got to see for myself what the hotel experience was like.

Great place for gateway to Sanibel and Captiva. Likely my new favorite!

Great hotel, and location.

The staff was amazing —- valet and outdoor bar and pool area. She really made us feel welcome and drinks were wonderful. Travis our valet was sooo personable

Not a "resort", it is just a hotel. Very expensive and run down. The front staff are very rude and booking from Expedia is misleading - I booked a King bed with water view (Tower) and what I was told I got was a King bed overlooking the parking lot (resort). They put me in a double queen room with water view. I was not happy about this. They would not put me in a King bed with water view since they claimed Expedia words their listing incorrect. I paid more for the Tower view on Expedia, as the resort view was at a cheaper price.

Cant wait to come back!

The bathroom sink sprayed water every direction except down, took some getting used to. The shower had no shower head, water just out a pipe, did not work well for me. Luckily one place was open for meals and was good. I was looking forward to eating at the steak house but it was closed. The views were amazing and staff were lovely. .

Only stayed overnight. Beautiful landscaping. Ate dinner at bar : excellent food and drinks were stiff. Reasonably priced for area.

Nice hotel. Rooms very clean. Restaurants are very nice. Breakfast is excellent. Greeted by everyone. Highly recommended
