Margaret River Resort

Loved the size of the rooms and Restaurant on site.

No daily service for the room. In fact no service unless requested. Stayed a week and had to request clean towels and empty trash and make bed ourselves. Live music on weekends in beer garden which can be heard in rooms until 10:30. Great parking and easy walk to the Main Street in Margaret River. Good restaurant and bar on site. Reception closes early at 17:00.

Good location. Never heard any noise from the hotel, we had a meal there which was good. Great to have own cooking facilities. Walkable distance to main street, would stay there again

Convenient location, beautiful gardens and outlook. Room was spacious and well looked after. I would certainly stay again.

Home from home

The River is an ok option. We stayed in the rooms with cooking facilities and a spa. The cooking facilities were very basic and the spa was very hard to get in and out of, especially if you wanted to just use the shower. The bed was ok, the aircon in the living worked hard enough to cool the bedroom. Having the washing machine and dryer was useful. The restaurant in the pub is really good. The location is good. Having reception only open during business hours isn’t very convenient, especially if you arrive at 6pm and have no idea where to check in. We were not told anything about the key being in lock boxes or codes before arriving. There is an EV destination charger, which is not very fast and you need to get the key from reception. But be aware that locals going to the pub for a gig will park next to it because they don’t notice it. In addition, we had four nights of not having the linen being changed, and being told there was a charge for getting new towels (and only available during business hours) was not good. By the fourth night, the towels were getting a bit smelly. The sign saying that they would charge $50 if plates were dirty is unnecessary and unpleasant. Overall, it’s ok for the price, but if you go, be aware of these things.

The Resort was really pleasant, nice large rooms on the ground floor, parking right outside the room. Coffee and tea were allocated at 2 per day per person. If you wanted more you had to pay. Milk allocation was very small, and we needed more than they gave us, so bought some at the supermarket. (I think the management should give more milk if needed) The menu was good, catered for both gluten free and Coeliac which catered for members of our party. It was an easy walk into the Main Street, I’m in a wheelchair but the push was quite easy - there were a couple of hills to negotiate, but my husband managed the push! Pool was clean and not too many people in, so we could have a dip without feeling too crowded.

Stayed for 6 nights,room was a good size, pub did good food. But service was poor, bins were not changed, linen not changed, no shampoo or conditioner provided, for the whole of our stay. Noise from pub was loud, music was very loud, make sure you bring headphones to block it out

Good old local hotel. I stayed in suite 7 and if you stay in rooms 1-7, you are above the pub and staying between fri & sat night is quite loud and noisey so be aware. The room we had was big and the spa was nice. The king sized bed was comfy. There’s no cleaning service which is apparently reflected in the price. Great location near the heart of Margs and staff are approachable with local advice. I stayed here once last year and was in a queen studio room. I won’t be back so I can experience something new, however my stay was still nice, hence my 5 star score

We loved our stay at the River Resort in Margaret River Previously we have stayed at other properties in MR and always find ourselves going there for meals and drinks We were very comfortable there and will return there The property is good value and it is great that it has very good parking near the room and a guest laundry (coin operated) Laundry detergent is provided free of charge The room we had was at the back and had a separate kitchenette and lounge which was great Although we didn't cook it was good to be able to make tea and coffee and have cold drinks The only downside for me was getting in and out of the spa to shower but this is probably an age thing

We stayed in a villa, there was enough room for the 5 of us. The villa was clean and neat with all facilities for cooking. Loved the stay, would go again. Only down side was we were right next to the pub so the music was loud on the Saturday and Sunday. Other than that it is really close to the shops and the kids loved the pool.

Beautiful buildings, the whole resort has a sort of nordic feel to it with the slate roof and white walls. The gardens are manicured to perfection. I love the restaurant and food options. Kids loved the pool. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only have 2 negatives... we stayed in a single/queen room and the beds were very hard, also no microwave or food heating faciities. Just a kettle.

Overall its a decent property however probably needs a little refurb. Staff service and approach was good though.

Easy to check in / check out before and after hours

Great for exploring the town. Bar a good social hub with their own music events.

Helpful friendly staff

The hotel provides free parking and big, luxury bathtub. However, sometimes the traffic noise from the road are noticeable. The electronics such as hair dryer are old style.

Nice clean tidy hotel. Friendly staff. 5 mins walk to the centre of town and 5 mins walk to the forest trails. Our room was basic and was very surprised there were no dining options for breakfast. Bar and restaurant don’t open till 12pm

Its a very big room, and close to nature. Comes with kitchen utilities such as microwave and toaster, and provided dishwasher liquid and cleaning tools. good location, near to many popular eateries. carpark was right outside d unit. and bed was extremely comfortable. Only negative, the hall has aircon but i think the room does not have an aircon. it was generally good weather, not sure how it will be like if its truly summer when its warm. d room was towards the back, Can hear the occasional cars driving pass.
