A short walk to the beach, light rail, cbd, pubs and restaurants.
Bolton St parking is across the road, it is pretty cheap.

The Grand is grand in an old worldy sort of way. We loved the room. Spacious and charming.

The accommodation needs major updates. Walls peeling away. No fly screens on windows so couldn’t open them. Remote for light and fan didn’t work properly.
Wouldn’t recommend The Grand to anyone.

For the special discounted price we got it was ok. I wouldn't want to have paid more than what we did. It definitely didn't live up to the photos on the website. Bathroom facilities were very tired and there were small cockroaches in the shower.
Also being a Monday night it was fine I would be concerned about Friday or Saturday night.
We were only there 1 night so we survived.
Staff were very lovely.

Did not stay in the room i assumed i booked. Was informed by smug manager Rooms 11 and up on third floor. 5 sets of stairs! Partner had lunch on arrival...ended up with diarrhea, going outside to get fresh air in the middle of night.?.

Pleasant stay at the Grand . Not much sleep
On our last night due to the noise of an event downstairs , yes we realise it’s a pub but a bit of prior notice would have been welcomed . Good location for sea pool and beach

Beautiful historic pub. Great room with good exercise built in walking up to the top floor. Very comfortable room. Got in too late to try the meals but the place looked great.

Had a lovely stay here recently. Unfortunately the air conditioner wasn’t working and the ceiling fan was positioned so high it wasn’t effective. Would stay here again but maybe not in summer, when cooling is needed. Great clean bathroom and comfortable bed.
