Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile

Staff was very nice, however, the hotel was under construction, so many of the services that should be offered in 5-star hotels were not available, ie. fitness center and restaurants. This was not indicated on the website when I booked the hotel, and had I known I would not have booked it. We made a complaint and the hotel did not do anything about it.

Renos were difficult but the rest was good

Full price during a renovation without stating there was a renovation going on. No restaurants available for breakfast, dinner or a cocktail. My sister and I were there on a girls trip and were disappointed.

The hotel is under construction, which ruins the experience. Spa was not working which was very disappointing to…I booked it looking forward to the spa experience. Room very small and coffee machine was not working, also TV menu was in French so I had to call hotel to send someone to figure out how to switch to English. Would not recommend at least until it’s done construction. Overpriced considering experience provided

This is a beautiful hotel but it is under construction. I was not aware of that when I booked and there have been almost no provisions made for that--there is no in-hotel dining, bar, or gym, or even nice place to sit, and no discount for the fact that they are lacking these amenities. The entrance has not even been finished to look nice temporarily, it looks like a construction zone. I would go back but not until it is redone.

Good service. Clean and cozy. The best location. Fresh and delicious food. Quite and safe area.

Entire place under construction. No lobby, no gym, no restaurant, no bar. Just a construction site with rooms. Insane these rooms are going for full price given the condition of this place. Will never stay again.

It’s under construction- do not book If you won’t stay in the hotel and just want to explore, it’s good- good location and friendly staff. However, there is NO amenity - no gym, no pool, no place to eat, it’s fully under construction. The hotel should at very least disclose it and offer a bit of discount.

Nice location and walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and museum. King bedroom luxury room provides good size room and bathroom. Housekeeping in general great but missed a couple of items … rectified the next day after our call.

We had a very uncommon stay for an hotel of this rating and a Sofitel property. After booking our stay and fully paying for it, we received an email the following day informing us that the restaurant, lobby, reception and some amenities were closed for renovations… We called the property and were told it was posted in their website (not in my region) and that if it was an issue I could cancel and go somewhere else (5 star service/brand????). The GM was contacted and he did call back and apologized, he looked forward to meet and greet us upon arrival but only had a generic note and macarons. Never had the opportunity to meet, even after we flagged that 3 days in a row we encountered cleaning room issues. It would have been all forgotten and good if we didn’t have to ask for housekeeping everyday, for 3 days the housekeeping missed our request for the room to be cleaned and would show up around 4pm or later. Long story short, this is a great location and an aged property. It lacks so much and needs to be fully renovated to merit its 5 starts and Sofitel level standards. The location probably fills the room by itself but this is not enough, staff was hit or miss, everyone polite but a mix of intern level receptionists and few senior seasoned hospitality professionals. We are regular Accor and Sofitel travelers and unfortunately do not recommend this property. We won’t be back,

Hotel staff were friendly and spoke french with me whenever i wanted and did not switch to English when I made small mistakes.

The Sofitel used to be one of my favorite hotels in Montreal, but I definitely would not stay there again until the current renovation is complete — something that Expedia did not alert me to when I booked. Also, hopefully by then they will resolve the staffing issues at the front desk and the breakfast room

We enjoyed our stay at Sofitel. The staff was exceptionally polite, accommodating, and helpful. We were able to receive an upgrade on the spot after deciding the room we were given was not large enough. We had a small issue with the bathroom late at night and they were timely responsive and quick with resolving the issue. The only things I'd say have to say about the hotel would be the appearance of the entrance/front desk (the hotel is undergoing renovations at this time, but just something to keep in mind). The room itself was fine. Nothing particularly exceptional, but quite satisfactory and a very clean bathroom (which is of utmost importance to me). Also, the signage at the front of the building is almost nonexistent, so you may not notice the hotel at first glance. Otherwise, I would solidly recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately the hotel’s restaurant and bar were closed for renovations . Had I known this I would have stayed elsewhere . As it was the experience was poor and I was irritated that no effort was made to compensate guests.

Staff were really lovely and nice to interact with. The bed was very, very comfortable, which is something Sofitel is well known for. The bathroom/shower was nice. We enjoyed the view from our room quite a bit. Great central location, with lots of shopping and dining. One slight negative is that the property itself felt and looked like it needed a bit of an update. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
