Fantastic, family friendly hotel. Very comfortable stay in the middle of the New Forest. Very helpful staff. Pool is a great edition for the children and whilst rooms could do with some modernisation, it was certainly very well maintained. Would recommend!

Friendly staff. Homely Christmas decorations. Lovely en-suite room. Plumbing was a little strange. Enjoyed a very nice meal and drinks for dinner in The Drift. A most enjoyable overnight stay.

We love the new forest collection hotels and have stayed dozens of times over the years, the staff are always friendly and the venues are always cosy and quiet. Unfortunately on this occasion the previous lodgers had left their dirty underwear hanging on the bathroom door. We understand this is easy to miss if the door is left open while cleaning but it was a bit of a shock as we've never had anything like this happen before. The hotel immediately removed it so it wasn't a major issue. Due to the age of the property it isn't the most energy efficient but it warmed up fairly quick and we had a great night sleep. First thing in the morning we were able to go for a snowy walk 10m over the road to kick start our day. We strongly recommend all the hotels in the new forest collection, the staff and venues will make your stay relaxing and hassle free.

A beautiful location but very basic rooms . We were not in the main hotel and not keen on the venue being cashless

Just a stop over for the night, very good service and friendly environment. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Ideally situated hotel for peaceful stay and great for New Forest exploring.

Dated in need of proper repairs. Lost significant revenue as would not except cash 😕

Unfortunately we only stayed for about 15mins. After entering the room the first impression of the Hotel and the beautiful views where quickly diminished due the cleanliness of the room. There was thick dust on the light fitting over the bed, I’d say it had never been cleaned, dust on top of wardrobes, dirt and dust around the back of the sink area, hair in the bath. The room itself was very tired and needed some TLC, walls flaking, tables had stains on and carpet stained also. It was a shame as we were looking forward to the stay but due to my partners asthma this wasn’t suitable. They really need to pay some attention to customers reviews and sort these issues out as this could be a beautiful place to stay.

Our room had not been cleaned with dust on windowsill and cobwebs throughout. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and shower curtain (which was replaced when we complained). There were limited toiletries in the Bathroom but no soap. No information at all in the room (WiFi code, restaurant opening times, menu, details of the pool (which we didn’t use as it closed at 6pm), map or local information). No mattress topper so we had hard buttons poking into our back when sleeping. Such a shame as the staff were great, the location excellent, the room was quiet and of was a reasonable size. We were offered compensation which we felt reasonable for the problems we encountered. The adjoining restaurant was expensive (£18 for pie and mash) but convenient and the staff attentive and helpful.

A quiet county atmosphere with well-appointed facilities. However, we did not receive any room service ie rubbish bens emptied, towels replaced or bad made. Had to book for breakfast even though the room was not crowded. Staff in dining area were polite and efficient.

Friendly staff, good breakfast. For the price one of our rooms was good value, the other ok.

Exceptional friendly service. My 12year old did not fit on the bunk bed so we know for future bookings to ensure no bunk bed and the mattresses were not great but would return based on location, friendly staff, pool and the property’s overall vibe Lovely body and bath products in the bathroom and tea and coffee in the room (but no hot chocolate) reception are happy to bring you fresh milk too which is a lovely gesture

Beautiful setting and lovely to experience the wildlife. Hotel comfortable and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Kjempe fin hotell midt i New Forest. Sengen var litt for kort for oss men det var det eneste negative. Kjekt med pub, pub gsrden med lekestativ og restaurant med lokal varer

Nice hotel, service could be better in reception and restaurant. Run short of many items in bar too.
