This is an old hotel in good location. There are moulds in the washroom. Poor drainage and bath tub faucet did not work. Only water dispenser at the lobby often ran out of water. Free breakfast is a sham. I waited for 60 min for a few small croissants, no butter or jam. Coffee was delayed forever. Nothing was ever refilled. The view was amazing, the elevators worked, enough parking though. The Kitchen and cafeteria staff very rude and short staffed. For simple service requests it was either turned down or made to wait for a long time. Hilo has shortage of hotels, hence they can continue to operate like this.

Hotel common areas were all dirty, homeless people loitering outside by the streets, wild cats everywhere. And one night an alarm was set off causing a total evacuation for nothing, no compensation was offered or received, restaurant and bar have no where near the capacity of its guests. Beds were way too soft have back pain all week. There was one bartender that worked hard was friendly and did her job well, non of the other staff even said hi or by let alone look at you while walking by.

In the first night at hotel, we're waken by alarm around 1pm. Run down to the lobby. It turned out it was false alarm. However, no announce was made to the hotel guest. Only if you went to front desk and ask, staff would tell you it's false alarm. No apologies received from hotel by far. After that, security staff couldn't get elevator back to work. My parent who is handicapped has to work the stairs up. No daily housekeeping. Not even dumping the trash or refill supplies. Ice machine is not located at every floor. Breakfast sucks. The worst ever.

Great location beautifully views of Hilo bay

1) the power in the washroom didn't work 2) the telephone didn't work 3) there was a false alarm on the last day of stay. Can understand false alarm happens, but there is nobody explaining to or guiding the hotel guests

Good location and view of bay. Complementary breakfast is simple but okay. Option to buy breakfast at onsite restaurant. Room was old (as of December 2024). Lots of small bugs around sink area. Towels rough. Staff friendly. Temper your expectations based on the cost.

Overall a enjoyable experience.

This is an old hotel that has not been upgraded. The walls are very thin. The adjoining room was occupied the first night (out of 4). They weren't particularly noisy but we could hear every sound they made. The hotel is in poor repair.

The property location is good; however, it looks old. Interiors probably need a makeover. Complimentary breakfast was limited to croissant, banana bread, coffee and juice. We stayed 3 days and housekeeping never showed up. The toiletry provided was in small tubes, like samples and won't last more that one wash. For $300 per night, it's is not worth the stay.

The property badly needs updating. The first room we were given had an extremely unpleasant odor, and the staff did switch us to another room, which was fine, but the switch involved waiting in a long line to get our new key cards. The view was beautiful, and there is a lovely park to walk in from the property. The breakfast was very watery oatmeal, day old croissants and donuts, and apples (no Hawaiian fruit or pastries!)

The staff was rude from check in to check out

Nice Room Friendly Staff super lacation and good parking - there are often many locals at the pool, which are very loud. As a tourist you feel out of place. - Everybody is given a plastic box and plastic cutlery for breakfest.

Love the local hospitality of this place. Truly the only place worth staying at in Hilo.

Extremely friendly and helpful check-in. I forgot to ask for a room close to the elevator for my elderly mother and they were very accommodating. The hotel, while a little dated - is right on the water and the sea side has a great view. The elevator are very fast, and the restaurant and bar have great food.

Not enough parking spaces available at times.
