What is the Difference Between the Ordinary Car and the Green Car?

For those wanting a more efficient, cheaper, and easy trip, the Ordinary Car offers great value. With the Ordinary Car, you can don't have to reserve seats before you get on the train, making transfer between trains much easier. However, since the passengers are not required to reserve a seat before boarding, the Ordinary Car can be a bit more crowded than the Green Car.

Travel comfortably on Ordinary cars with 2+3 or 2+2 seating layouts

Meanwhile, if you want more comfort on the train, Green Car is the right choice for you. Marked with the green clover symbol, the Green Cars of the train offer more spacious seating with bigger legroom for you to travel in comfort. All seats must be reserved before boarding, which can be done at the JR ticket office and are only available after you redeem your JR Pass. You can also ride on both the Green Car and the Ordinary Car, while with the Ordinary Car pass, you can only take the Ordinary Car.

How do I buy the JR Pass?

Select the JR Pass type you want. Before completing your purchase. make sure you have inputted your full name correctly according to your passport. After you complete this purchase, you will receive a Traveloka E-Voucher.

What should I do after purchase?

Immediately after completing your purchase, Japantrips will contact you via WhatsApp using phone number 0811-2346-680 qithin 24 hours to confirm your purchase and go through the details about the Exchange Order pick-up or delivery process. During this process, please provide 1) Your full name according to your passport using this format: MR RUDI HARTONO/MS SUSAN HARTONO, 2) Your departure date, and 3) Your preferred Exchange Order delivery/pick-up method. 

Pick-up and delivery will be done from one of Japantrips' offices located in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, and Bali. 

If you choose to pick up your Exchange Order, you have to arrange the pick-up date and time with Japantrips in advance. You can pick up the Exchange Order by yourself, have it picked up by an instant courier that you order, or ask Japantrips' Customer Service to order an instant courier with an extra fee.

Meanwhile, if you prefer to have your Exchange Order delivered to your address via regular delivery service, you need to provide the delivery address and pay for the delivery fee that will be informed by the Japantrips. The delivery can be proceeded on the same day, as long as the booking was completed before 14:00 on business days.
