My stay at Padma Resort Legian for 3D2N was very memorable and wonderful. The hotel staffs, Ari & Oki gave exceptional service, they were very professional and helpful. The hotel gave me free upgraded room to the new deluxe chalet and early check in at 10. AM. In short: superb service, excellent staff, beautiful atmosphere, a lot of free of charge outdoor activities. I'll definitely come back to this highly recommended hotel, thank you padma legian!

What else to say about Apurva Kempinski? All are perfect. No negative comments. Reception is quick and helpful. Frontliner staff that accompanying us to the room, Celine, is very helpful and explained a lot. Room was great. Clean. Perfect. Bathroom are very cozy and let's not forget the automatic smart toilet. Even they serve ice cubes - as expected from 5 star hotel. Swimming pools are huge. Beach is clean and the sands are soft. Beach club also serve best foods and drinks. Transfer to/from lobby provided buggy car service and even though I'm worried at first on the availability, well that's not the case. Buggy will come within 3 minutes after we asked for one. Breakfast was superb. Food variety are good. We stayed 2 nights and really hate has to leave on the 3rd day. It was a very pleasant experience and we are looking forward to visit Apurva Kempinski again in the future. Oh and the Coral restaurant - stunning!

2 nights at the villa! Humongous space - 300mtr. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom suite was amazing, spacious and luxurious at the same time. Jacuzzi, private pool, even a bed in front of your private pool for you to sunbathe! Breakfast buffet was scrumptious and the staff was absolutely pleasant! I got a good deal through traveloka, much much cheaper compared to buying it from the front desk. Thank you Indigo seminyak, I can't wait to come back! And thank you traveloka for the great deal!

Very satisfied, and recommended. The level of attention to the detail is very high. Their staff is very professional. The location is very close to Bali's best cafes and restaurants (walking distance). The value added point is I can enjoy sunset everyday from the back of the hotel without joining the crowd in nearby hype beach clubs. Very recommended.

We had a nice stay in intercontinental hotel. Our children love the pool near beach, my son go around the hotel by bicycle. Love the white sandy beach at back of the hotel. The service from the bell boy and the man who escort us to the lobby is nice, I forgot ask for his name. But I didn't like the service from the old lady facing the computer at the reception, I feel not comfortable with her, feel not welcome. But after we saw the nice and huge room, the nice view from the balcony, the cleanliness, and nice service from other employee, we like stayed here. We'll be back to intercontinental bali in the next visit.

What a spectacular weekend stay! Been here twice for fine dining only before, but this year visit was simply the best. It's been long time out of vacation since pandemic stroke, and we felt Hanging Gardens Ubud kind of paved the way for our new experience. We were here for the very delayed honeymoon that has turned into anniversary, and the hotel gave us a remarkable hospitality, from the friendly people at the front office (Bli Asa, Mbak Dinar, Bli Wayan, Bli Ngurah, I'm sorry if I don't remember the names correctly, I hope I'm not mistaken), the amazing restaurant crews, to the helpful spa staff. Our villa with panoramic view was clean & spacious, the main swimming pool was amazing, also the superb experience of finding hidden tub in the exact side of the river, are you kidding me? We would like to come back for sure! P. S: The food was great as well. There's a prawn menu that we really liked, but forget the name. Kudos to that.

About Bali

Bali is a stunning island in Indonesia that has long been a top destination for travellers from around the world. With its natural beauty, rich culture, and warm, friendly locals, it's no wonder Bali attracts such attention. The island offers a mix of laid-back beach life, tropical greenery, and unique traditions that make it easy for visitors to feel at home. Whether you’re into surfing, exploring lush jungles, or simply enjoying the sunsets, Bali has something for everyone. Of course, part of the appeal of visiting Bali is finding the perfect place to stay. From luxury hotels to cosy homestays, Bali accommodation caters to every budget and taste. Whether you prefer staying in a beachside villa or a hotel with views of the rice paddies, the island is known for its hospitality and range of comfortable lodgings. To know more about what makes Bali such a special place to visit, as well as details about where to stay and what to expect, keep reading this article.

The Best Attractions to Visit in Bali

Here’s a list of some of the best attractions you should check out when visiting

:

1. The Beaches

Bali is famous for its stunning beaches. Whether you’re into surfing or just fancy a bit of sunbathing, there’s a spot for everyone. Popular beaches like Kuta, Seminyak, and Jimbaran are great for soaking up the sun or catching some waves. If you prefer something quieter, head to the more secluded beaches like Balangan or Padang Padang.

2. Ubud’s Rice Terraces

Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, and its rice terraces are a must-see. The famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces are particularly beautiful and offer an incredible view of the lush greenery. It’s a peaceful spot to wander around and appreciate the natural beauty of Bali.

3. Temples

Bali is dotted with stunning temples, each with its own unique charm. One of the most iconic is Tanah Lot, located on a rock formation by the sea. Uluwatu Temple, set on a cliff edge, offers breathtaking sunset views. Don’t forget to visit Besakih Temple, the island’s largest and holiest temple.

4. Waterfalls

Bali has some amazing waterfalls worth exploring. Tegenungan, Sekumpul, and Gitgit waterfalls are some of the most popular. They’re perfect for a cool dip and are surrounded by lush forests, offering a refreshing escape from the heat.

5. Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud

For something a bit different, the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud is home to hundreds of playful monkeys. It’s an interesting place to visit, but keep an eye on your belongings – the monkeys can be cheeky!

Accommodation in Bali

When it comes to Bali accommodation, you’ll find a wide range of options. From luxury resorts with private pools to cosy homestays and budget-friendly hotels, there’s something for every traveller. If you’re after a bit of pampering, Bali’s beachside resorts offer stunning views and top-notch service. On the other hand, Ubud is a great place to stay if you prefer being closer to the island’s cultural and natural attractions. Wherever you choose, Bali’s hospitality will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

How Safe is Bali for Tourists?

Bali is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, with the island being a popular spot for travellers from all over the world. Like any tourist destination, it’s always good to stay aware of your surroundings and take basic precautions, such as keeping an eye on your belongings in crowded areas and being cautious when riding scooters or hiring taxis. Petty theft can occur in busy spots, but overall, the local people are friendly and helpful. Bali has a strong tourism infrastructure, with plenty of reliable Bali accommodation options ranging from luxurious hotels to budget stays. Most hotels and resorts are secure, offering 24-hour security to ensure guests feel safe and comfortable during their stay. The island is also known for its welcoming atmosphere, and the Balinese people take pride in making visitors feel at home. While it’s important to take the usual precautions, you’ll find Bali to be a laid-back and enjoyable place to explore.

What is The Weather Like in Bali?

Bali enjoys a tropical climate, which means it’s warm and humid pretty much all year round. The island has two main seasons: the dry season, which runs from April to October, and the wet season from November to March. During the dry season, you’ll experience sunny days and cooler evenings, making it the ideal time for outdoor activities like surfing, trekking, or simply relaxing on the beach. The wet season, on the other hand, sees more rainfall, with showers typically short and heavy, but they tend to clear up quickly, so you can still enjoy your time outdoors.

No matter when you visit, Bali accommodation caters to the weather with plenty of options to stay cool and comfortable. Many hotels and resorts come equipped with air conditioning, swimming pools, and shaded areas, making it easy to relax even on the hottest days. If you’re staying in one of the island’s more luxurious beachside hotels or private villas, you’ll likely have access to a pool or direct beach access, perfect for cooling off. Even in the wet season, Bali’s lush greenery and laid-back vibe make it a great place to visit, and many accommodations offer sheltered outdoor spaces where you can enjoy the views without worrying about a bit of rain.

How to Get from Bali Airport to The City Centre?

Here’s how to get from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to the city centre:

Taxi

One of the easiest ways to get to the city centre is by taxi. Once you step outside the arrivals terminal, you’ll find a taxi counter where you can book a ride at a fixed rate. It’s a straightforward option, with the trip taking around 20-30 minutes depending on where your accommodation is, such as in Kuta, Seminyak, or Denpasar.

Hotel Transfers

Many Bali hotels and resorts offer airport transfers, which can be booked in advance. This is often a great stress-free option, especially if you’re staying at a luxury resort or a Bali accommodation that includes this service as part of your booking. Your driver will meet you at the airport, and you’ll avoid any hassle of finding transport on arrival.

Car Rental

For those planning to explore the island at their own pace, renting a car at the airport is another option. Car rental desks are easy to find, and you can choose from a variety of vehicles. Just be mindful of Bali’s sometimes hectic traffic if you decide to drive yourself.

With these options, getting to your accommodation in Bali is simple, whether you’re staying at a beachfront resort or a budget-friendly hotel in the city centre.

Mega Boutique Hotel & Spa
Overall, my stay at this hotel was quite disappointing. The biggest issue was cleanliness. At first glance, the room appeared decent, but that changed when I noticed yellowish-brown stains and strands of hair (from who knows whom) on the bedsheet. In the bathroom, I found an abandoned beer bottle—likely left by the previous guest. It didn’t stop there. In the shower area, I discovered several torn shampoo sachets left on the shelves where toiletries are usually placed. Given these issues, I had solid reasons for rating the cleanliness poorly. Beyond cleanliness, the room itself was in bad shape. Some lights weren’t working, parts of the wallpaper were peeling, and the bathroom door lock was broken. As for the hotel facilities, I didn’t opt for the breakfast package, but I did check out the breakfast area. The place had a strong cockroach-like smell, and I was relieved I hadn’t booked the package. The swimming pool looked decent, though I didn’t get the chance to try it. However, when I explored the first floor, I found the lighting was extremely poor—so bad that they hadn’t even bothered turning on the lights, making the area feel eerie and uninviting. The WiFi was also disappointing, with a speed of only around 5 Mbps. I had to rely on my mobile data instead. The one saving grace was that the air conditioning worked fine. Unfortunately, given all these issues, I won’t be staying here again.

The ONE Legian
The hotel location is good. But for the price, the room is so small, its not bad, but for the price, is really are small. They add 3rd bed even we don't ask and don't need it, so it makes the room more full. The balcone is really small. The breakfast is OK, but nothing special, just like standard 3 stars hotel. I'm not gonna stay again in here for that price

Very helpful staff. Kudos to the staff receptionist @24 February at nite shift, I forgot to ask his name. It was late checked in at 23:30 due to traffic jam, I asked for assigned room number before arrival, so I can order gofood from outside and he smoothly handled it. Great hospitality from the staff!
