-Itinerary introduction-

・Eikando is located in the Eikando Zenrin Temple in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto. It was built in the Heian period and was the villa of the literati Fujiwara Sekio. The garden in the territory is exquisite and unique, and the stone bridge is reflected in the pond, creating a special artistic conception. Yongguantang, famous for its red leaves, presents a completely different purple color during the new green season, lush and full of vitality.

・Nanzen Temple was founded for Emperor Kameyama in the fourth year of Zhengying (1291), and the first abbot was Guanfumen, the Imperial Master of the Ming Dynasty. Nanzenji Temple is the earliest Zen temple built by the imperial family in Japan, so it ranks above the Five Mountains in Kyoto and is the highest Zen temple in Japan.

・Shoren-in Temple, located in Higashiyama, together with Sanzen-in Temple and Myo-in Temple, constitute the Sanmonji Temple of the Tendai sect in Japan. The towering giant tree in front of the gate is a Nanshu designated as a natural monument of Kyoto City. In the Kirishima Garden designed by Kobori Enshu, the bright red Kirishima Rhododendrons bloom in May every year, adding a touch of gorgeous charm to the early summer scenery.
