Situated in the most desired area, this small yet beautiful house is just perfect for vacation. I stayed at the top floor-the attic and its unique. Surrounded by small resto and cafe, a friendly staff, comfort bedding and clean room, it's awesome.

About

Strasbourg Bridge Ponts Couverts

Strasbourg is filled with cultural and historical places that draw tourists all year long. Bigger groups and families could learn a lot from the long list of museums and areas where architecture has been preserved so beautifully. With its young and energetic crowd thanks to the number of people going to the city to get an education at the University of Strasbourg, a visit will be lively and fun.

How to Get There

There are direct flights to Strasbourg, where travellers will arrive at the Strasbourg Airport. From the airport, many people prefer to ride the high-speed railway system to get into the city, especially with faster travel time. The airport is serviced by Entzheim-Aéroport train station and takes 7-12 minutes to get to the city’s town proper.

Getting Around

Strasbourg services its visitors and locals with three main modes of transportation: buses, trains, and airplanes. Buses give passengers an option to plan ahead by booking tickets online or referring to the list of tourist coaches available for visitors. They also have an option for longer trips.

The train system allows any passenger to go from Paris to Strasbourg in less than two hours. This is the reason why it is the most preferred mode of transportation in the area. The train is a high-speed railway system that also allows online booking for tickets.

Top Things to Do

The first thing a visitor would notice in Strasbourg is the movie-like setting of the place. It has been so well-preserved that it seems like a period movie everywhere you go. However, for the best photos, people flock to La Petite France. An Instagram-worthy picture is waiting to happen at every corner with its different architectural heritage of different periods. Musée Alsacien is also a great stop for tourists. The museum is beautifully built on a 17th-century style house and showcases replicas of the historic home scenes and workshops.

For a more urban sighting, the European Parliament will bring you back to today’s time. Made with glass and steel, it is just more impressive to know that Strasbourg is one of the only three non-capital cities in the world to house an international institution. Reservation is a must so make sure to call ahead before visiting.

For families with kids, Le Vaisseau is a fun and interactive place to be. Intending to help children learn in a fun way, this interactive science museum caters to kids ages 3 to 15. Armed with 130 interactive exhibits, Le Vaisseau can give tourist parents a little bit of time while the kids learn and play.

Strasbourg Cathedral

The Strasbourg Cathedral is also a sight to behold and a great stop to add to the itinerary. The sandstone cathedral used to be the tallest building in the world and is still currently the tallest structure to have been built during the medieval period. A trip to the top of the tower gives you the best view of the city and a look at areas as far as 30 kilometres away.

What to Eat

For a meal with a side of beautiful views and historic learnings, L’Ancienne Douane is a great choice. Most people would be intimidated by the grand exterior having been destroyed three times since it was constructed in 1358. But the restaurant endured and is still serving patrons at an affordable price. Au Petit Bois Vert is also a great option for a more casual setting. The restaurant is hailed to be the best in Strasbourg to sample the Alsatian game, which is a dish not to be missed when in the area.

Even in France, Spanish cuisine trumps some areas. For a truly amazing Spanish restaurant, El Pimiento is a great place to just sit down, have some drinks and have fun with friends. The restaurant serves Spanish cuisine and is situated perfectly in the middle of the tourist attractions.

Choucroute

Au Pont Corbeau is for the hearty eater with its generous portions and servings. Armed with different meats and dishes like salted bacon, smoked sausage, and smoked bacon, the restaurant differs itself by having a grill to skillfully cook meats.

Les Haras de Strasbourg is a feast for the belly and the eyes. The building dates back to the 18th century and the beautiful architecture and amazing food earned them the title of Best Restaurant in Europe and Best Restaurant in the World. These titles should not be taken lightly, especially in France.

Nightlife

A night out in Strasbourg is not complete without a visit to Académie de la Bière. Choose from a long list of beer collections ranging from local brews to artisanal brands from Belgium. They also serve food including local specialty Tarte flambee.

Code Bar is one of the newer and cooler clubs in Strasbourg. To get in, you must ring the bell and go through a narrow hallway. Inside is a cool bar where you can order flavorful cocktails and enjoy the music and the company of even cooler people.

For fans of live music, La Laiterie is the place to be. A couple of times a year they host festivals of different kinds of music including electro music and folk, indie and rock. They have international bands performing regularly and is a mainstay for both locals and tourists.

Where to Stay

Strasbourg hosts millions of tourists per year and it is important to know which areas host which of the tourists. If you are up for a jolly mood to meet and be with other fellow tourists, book an accommodation at the Train Station District.

Strasbourg Alsace France Timbered Houses

For tourists looking for a cultural experience and a magnificent view, stay in the Cathedral district. This place is near the main square of Strasbourg, the Place Kebler. As its name suggests, the Cathedrals surround this area as well as marketplaces that make it easier for tourists to choose their meals and establishments.

For the best photos straight out of a postcard, stay at the La Petite France district. It is not just beautiful, it is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The neighbourhood is so peaceful and is perfect for walks. With the continuous flock of tourists, the number of establishments has grown giving you more options.

Let the picture tell you! Staffs is really friendly and give us a warm welcome. I really love this hotel even I have to drag my large luggage all the way long from train station to hotel because it's only took around 10 min so it's not too far to enjoy views along the way to hotel. It's super close and easy to go to Christmas market by walk. The room is modern and has everything I need to get dress before going out to take photos with epic Christmas tree! Definitely will spend more night in this lovely hotel again!
