Denpaku Amami Hotel

Cool, cozy rooms, reminded me of an upscale dorm room. Excellent helpful service. Location close to restaurants and grocery store, short drive to the beach. I wish I could stay there longer!

I stayed in a dormitory for 2 nights in late October. The room smelled musty and was extremely humid. There are windows, but there are no screens so I can't open them. The sheets are too small for the bed frame and always slip around while sleeping. The layout of the room is okay. There are no mirrors so it's a bit inconvenient. The shared showers and washrooms are clean. Free barley tea and Pokari in the kitchen are available some days and some days are not. A Coop is a 2 minute walk from the dormitory. The location is inconvenient for people who don't have a car or motorcycle, but it's close to the airport, so it might be a good option for a one-night stay on your last day.

The room is simple and stylish. The refrigerator, toilet, etc. were easy to use. However, the thing I hated most was the musty smell. I think it was because of the air conditioner, but it was just so uncomfortable. When I opened the window to ventilate the room, bugs came in, so I just had to put up with it. I would like to see it improved. I was also concerned about the noise coming from the room next door, but since it wasn't always there, it didn't bother me more than the smell.

I stayed for 3 nights on weekdays. Even though the whole room was clean, the walls of the bathroom were red (I don't think it was a design issue), and the worst part was that I could almost hear the voices next door, and I could even hear them snoring. It was a shame. It felt like a partition called a wall. Additionally, I would have appreciated having a shelf and a place to hang towels in the bathroom. There wasn't that much space between the bed and the counter table, but the ceiling was high so it didn't feel cramped. The refrigerator was large enough for one person to use, so it was easy to use. I could see the mountain, but the atmosphere might have been better if there wasn't construction going on below. The battery of the rental electric cycle was replaced midway through (which might not be possible if all the bicycles were rented), and the staff were very helpful in various ways, so I thought I'd give it a try if I'm on the beachfront. I thought.
