The Nishitetsu Inn Fukuoka has an excellent river view on one side. We were able to enjoy views of the cherry blossoms during the day and the lights and signs at night. The breakfast room is also nice with views across the city in most directions.
The only downside we found was that taking a shower ends up flooding the ledge that runs from the shower over the sink and to the far wall. So anything you put on the ledge (like a cosmetics bag or shaving kit) is going to get wet.

The hotel is located within walking distance of a station and Canal city. It had a nice deep bath tub and good room temperature controls. My only negative was that the pillows were a little too stiff for me.

Pros: Beautiful view of river, walking distance to Tenjin and Hakata port
Cons: only one pillow, I have to ask for another one. And I dunno why I had to set the aircon at 18°C to feel comfortable, but late at night I raise it to 24°C coz it gets cold.

We really enjoyed staying at Nishitetsu Inn. Room was very comfortable and clean. We really liked the idea of providing a phone with internet access. Stuff is friendly and helpful. 2 things that can be improved: black tea in addition to green tea put in room and please put a sign on the floors telling customers to be quiet. We were always woken up with inconsiderate people laughing during sleep times
