Good thing my earrings were not made of real gold and diamond because I almost lost them here when we got our room cleaned. Story time! (Btw, this is kinda long so for those who don't want to read it, just reread the first sentence for the summary 😉)
So my friends and I went to Bantayan last Feb 16-20 and we stayed here. My friend found this place on Facebook I think and we went for it since it got great reviews. We reay liked the place and the staff was nice. Upon our arrival, one of the lady staff asked if we want to do land tour and she offered her partner's trike service, which we gladly agreed/accepted. Fast forward to our 2nd day, we asked for our room to get cleaned while we were on the land tour (again, courtesy of the ate's partner). When we got back we got ready for dinner and I chose to wear one of my dainty earrings. I removed the gold-plated ones I'm wearing and put it in the blue box without screwing the balls back on the earrings. Fast forward to the 3rd day, we went island hopping and asked for our room to get cleaned up again. We went with ate's partner to bring us to the boat dock and we even rented our snorkels with them. When we got back to the place, we prepared for dinner and I wanted to change my earrings again to the other one I brought. Then I noticed that one of the blue boxes was missing. And yes, you guessed it right, the blue box that went missing is the one with the gold-plated not-so-real diamond. The other blue box with another dainty earrings is perfectly nestled in the table. We turned the place upside down to find it, including our bags. That's when my friend decided to ask the receptionist who cleaned our room. The receptionist said he didn't know because the staff works on shifting schedules and it's a different one for the nightime or Sunday. At this point, we gave up. The next morning, our last day, we had our breakfast at 8am. We went back to our rooms at around 9:30am to rest then pack our stuff since our checkout was at 12nn. While resting, someone knocked and it was the same ate, who we trusted and to whom were kind enough to accept other island services from, my blue box. She said the blue box got mixed up in the eco bag with their cleaning supplies while cleaning our room. At that time, I was just thankful that I got it back and gave her the benefit of the doubt until I opened the blue box. The ball screws were missing, which shouldn't be the case unless someone haphazardly opened it without knowing that there are tiny ball screws inside. So long story short, I got it back but I won't be able to use it since it does not have the ball screws to lock. And for those curious enough, the earrings costs around P600-800. Until now, I don't wanna point fingers or share my story because it's still very hard for me to process and accept that despite your good acts for other people, you still get betrayed by them in the end. So to avoid this from happening to anyone again, I decided to share my experience, not to throw shade or anything bad on the place, but for others to practice caution. Thanks!
