1. Remis Lake.

Remis Lake is located in the middle of the forest, and it has clear water as well as the cooling breeze from the mountain. This pretty lake is located in Kaduela Village, Pasawahan, about 30 kilometers to the north from Kuningan downtown (20 kilometers to the southeast from Cirebon). To reach the lake, you can use the public bus with Jakarta-Cirebon route. Stop at Cilimus Market, and continue with angkot (public minivan) to Pasawahan.

When you arrive, you can take a walk through the pat around the lake, or just sit at the saung (traditional gazebo) and restaurant near the lake, and enjoy the view toward beautiful trees. If you actually want to have fun on the lake, there are water bikes you can rent. The admission fee to enter the lake area is just 5,000 IDR per person.

2. Cipari Prehistoric Park.

When you visit a park, you usually expect to see flowers. However, at Cipari Prehistoric Park, you will see the distinctive view of prehistoric rock formations. 3. Mount Ciremai National Park.

This place is located in Linggarjati Village, Cilimus, not far from Mount Ciremai National Park.

To reach this building, you need to drive 15 kilometers to the north from Siliwangi Road, and make a turn to the west from Bojong-Linggarjati Road. In Linggarjati Agreement Building, you can see the original furniture used by Indonesian and Dutch delegates that were involved in the negotiation. 5. Cibulan Baths and “God’s Fish”.

10.  The Mountain Recreation Park.

One of the most festive holiday destinations for the family in Kuningan is The Mountain Recreation Park. Located on Cirendang-Cigugur Road, Cipari, this park has large swimming pools and facilities that are well-integrated with their surrounding environments.

At Mountain Recreation Park, you and your family can swim, enjoy slide, ride on ATV, playing on the carousel and kora-kora, learning about planes, and fishing on the fish ponds in the park. Balong Keramat Darmaloka is located in Darma Village, District Darma. It is 15 kilometers away to the southeast from Kuningan downtown area. To visit the lake, you can use a car to go along the Veteran and Nanggeleng-Cirahayu Roads.

Sangkan Resort Aqua Park is currently the biggest waterpark in Kuningan. 17.  Salsabila Park.

Outbound is one of the most exciting activities to fill your holiday. At Salsabila Park, you can experience various outbound activities with your entire family. The place has various games, such as flying fox, climbing ropes, and Cable Bridge. There are also swimming pool, giant bucket, ATV, and bamboo rafts.

If you come in a group, you can try farming-related activities together, such as harvesting sweet potatoes and corns, planting rice, and catching fish or eel in a pond. You can bring home one fish for free after the activity.

Located in Panawuan Village, Cigandamekar, this place is open from 08:00 to 18:00, with an admission fee of 20,000 IDR per person. However, this park has restaurant and coffee shop called Kafe Salsabila that is open until 22:00.

18.  Curug Luhur.

Curug Luhur is a waterfall located in Padahurip Village, Selajambe, 32 kilometers to the south from Kuningan downtown area. To enter this area, you will have to pay 40,000 IDR. The location is a little challenging, because it is in a mountainous area. When you visit, there is a windy and steep path to drive on. Therefore, make sure your vehicle is in the best condition if you drive yourself. You are advised to use car rental service with a local driver to ensure your safety during the trip.

During the trip to the waterfall, you will see the relaxing view of serene and lush villages. There are rice fields on the feet of the mountain. To actually reach the waterfall, you must walk through a forest and a river with crystal-clear, refreshing stream. Once you arrive in front of the waterfall, all the tiredness will disappear with water curtain of the two-level waterfall.

19.  1000 Bintang Hill.

1000 Bintang Hill (the Hill of One Thousand Stars) sounds like a destination where you visit at night to enjoy the stars. While it is true, 1000 Bintang Hill is also great to visit during the day. Located on the feet of Mount Ciremai, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding areas and the peak of Ciremai above it.

The hill is located in Padangbeuhar Village, Pesawahan District, and a little difficult to reach. However, the management has provided special off-road vehicles to take the visitors to the top, which cost between 50,000 and 100,000 IDR per person. 20.  Warujimun Parasailing.

If you love challenges, try parasailing in Cileuweung Hill, Warujimun Village, Citangtu, Kuningan. It is located 7 kilometers from downtown, or about 17 minutes of drive. There are two routes you can choose to reach the area. The first is by Eyang Weri and Cileuweung Roads, and the second is by Garawangi and Pagerbatu Roads.

Cirendang Park is only 5 kilometers away to the north from Kuningan downtown area. The park is easy to find, because it is located near the main route of Siliwangi Road. Once you reach Ciraharja Village, you will still need to walk through the forest for about 30 minutes. However, as soon as you arrive in Curug Payung, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the waterfall.

The water curtain comes down with a large stream from a cliff. In the middle of the cliff, there is a rock formation that split the water curtain, forming an umbrella-shaped look. The water joins in a large pool at the bottom. You can swim in this pool to refresh under the waterfall.

24.  Subang Natural Hot Bath.

Hot bath is a great way to refresh your muscles and mind. After finish exploring Kuningan, you should visit Subang Natural Hot Bath, located in Subang Village, Subang District. This place is quite far from downtown area, which is 33 kilometers to the south east. To reach it, you can use personal or rental car through Ciwaru, Cilebak, and Subang Districts. During the trip, you will see hills and experience winding roads, with an amazing view.

The source of this hot bath is Cipanas hot spring. The sulfur content in the spring is believed to have health benefits for the skin. Every holiday and weekend, the two hot water pools are always full of visitors. To enter the hot bath area, you must pay 5,000 IDR of admission fee per person.

25.  Nilem Lake.

26.  Curug Bangkong.

Curug Bangkong is a waterfall located in Kertawirama Village, Nusaherang, about 12 kilometers to the northwest from Kuningan downtown area. To reach the location, you can use Veteran, Cigadung, and Nanggeleng Roads, until you arrive in Kertawirama. If you drive, the parking area is quite far. However, if you use a motorcycle, you can enter further through a small path around the rice field, close to the waterfall.

Curug Bangkong is 23 meters high, with high water debit. There is a pool beneath the waterfall that you can use for swimming. Behind the waterfall, there is a cave that is considered sacred by locals. According to a legend, there was a priest in that area who turned into a frog, which is “bangkong” in Sundanese language. Since then, locals started calling the waterfall Curug Bangkong.

27.  Linggarjati Natural Park.

Linggarjati Indah Park, which is located in Linggarjati Village, Cilimus District, offers various attractions in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. Here, you and your family can swim, join outbound activities, or just relax in the restaurant. There are water bike, large pond, mini train, child's playground, and carousel, which is perfect for a family trip.

This park is located 17 kilometers way from Kuningan downtown. To reach it, you can use Siliwangi Road to the north. Once you reach Cilimus Road intersection, make a turn to the west and follow the road until you see the park. You can visit every day from 08:00 to 18:00, with 10,000 IDR admission fee.

28.  Cariang Hill.

If you are done exploring the northern and southern parts of Kuningan, you should try visiting the eastern part, which is in bordering in Central Java. In that area, there is a district called Cibingbin, which has hilly geography with an amazing view. Cariang is a hill that has become a favorite among travelers.

From the hilltop, you can see beautiful green hills full of trees and terraced rice fields. There are many people coming to the location for taking great pictures. 29.  Paseban Tri Panca Tunggal.

Paseban Tri Panca Tunggal is an ancient building located in Cigugur Village. This is a cultural heritage that has been around since 1840. It was built by Kyai Madrais, one of the heirs to the throne of Gebang Cirebon Kingdom. If you want to visit it, you can use angkot (public minivan) from downtown with Pramuka-Cigugur route. If you drive your own car, use Jenderal Sudirman and Cigugur Roads for 5 kilometers for 13 minutes.

Inside this building, you will find various rooms that keep historical artifact collections. There are batik arts, gamelan, and traditional heirlooms that are still well-maintained. This cultural heritage is private property, so you must ask for permission to the owner first before entering.

30.  Maria Sawer Rahmat Cave.

If you want to do a religious trip, Maria Sawer Rahmat Cave can be one of the destinations you must visit in Kuningan. This religious site is located in Cisantana Village, Cigugur. From Kuningan downtown area, you must drive for 10 kilometers to the south east, using Jenderal Sudirman and Cigugur Roads.

Once arrived in the cave, you will be welcomed with cool, refreshing air of the mountain, and shady green trees around the cave. After that, you walk on the steps in Totombok Hill and pass by fourteen stops to pray, until you finally reach Gua Maria (the Cave of Mary).

31.  Situ Wulukut.

According to travelers who have visited Situ Wulukut, this place is basically the Ranu Kumbolo of Kuningan. This is because of two parallel hills, something that you can also see in the more famous Ranu Kumbolo area in Mount Semeru. However, Situ Wulukut is greener because it has more trees.

Situ Wulukut is located 12 kilometers to the south from Kuningan. To go there, you can drive on Veteran and Nanggeleng-Cirahayu Roads. Once you arrive at the entrance in Kertayuda Village, Nusaherang District, you must walk for another 500 meters. You will finally see a beautiful image of nature that will refresh your eyes.

32.  Mayasih Urban Forest Park.

Unlike other waterfalls, which usually stream in a straightforward way to the bottom, the water in Curug Parakan Panjang must go through a high and wide rock cliff. Therefore, you will see a wide waterfall that falls to two levels of rock, with a smaller second curtain. You can step on the rock and experience a "shower" under the water curtain. 34.  Curug Sidomba.

When visiting a waterfall, the first thing you imagine might be a tall water curtain from a cliff in a hill. However, Curug Sidomba is nothing like that. Located in Peusing Village, Jalaksana, this waterfall is only 3 meters high. Even the water stream is not too big. In the pool below it, there are colorful fish swimming around.

35.  Curug Gongseng.

Curug Gongseng is a waterfall located in Cibuntu Village, Pasawahan. This waterfall has high rock cliff, which looks beautiful with a round pool at the bottom. The high location also makes this area a cool and breezy place to relax.

The distance between Curug Gongseng and Kuningan is about 17 kilometers. To go there, you can use Siliwangi and Cilimus Roads, and go straight to the north. Once you reach Cilimus Market intersection, turn to the east and follow the road to Cibuntu Village.

Once you reach your destination, you still need to walk through the bamboo forest area. You also still need to walk on quite high steps until you reach the waterfall. While it may be exhausting, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of nature, such as hills, rice fields, and green trees perfect for your photo backgrounds.

36.  Situ Kabuyutan.

Situ Kabuyutan is located in the south-eastern end of Kuningan, and is directly bordering with Central Java Province. The distance from downtown Kuningan is also quite far, which is around 45 kilometers or about 1 hour and 45 minutes of driving. You also must go through challenging terrain, such as a steep and winding road. However, all these challenges will make your reward even more satisfying.

This lake, which is located in Legokherang Village, Cilebak, is a beautiful and natural spot. You can see rows of big trees around the lake, which contribute to the breezy atmosphere. The surface of the lake is a beautiful blue-green shade. You can come to this lake area anytime without paying for a ticket.

37.  Curug Nyandung.

Kuningan does have a lot of waterfalls with various characteristics, and one of them is Curug Nyandung, which is located in the southern part of Kuningan Regency. The waterfall has three streams, which come down in separate curtains before joining at the bottom of the cliff, ending in a pool beneath it.

In Sundanese language, nyandung means “having an affair”. It fits the three streams of Curug Nyandung. They symbolize a man in the middle and two women on each side.

To visit this beautiful waterfall, you must drive for 27 kilometers from the downtown Kuningan. You can choose a western route by Veteran, Cigugur, and Cipasung-Cantilan Roads, or eastern route by Kadu Gede Sindangjawa and Ciniru-Jageur Roads, until you reach Cimenga Village. At the entrance to the waterfall, which is in Ciatiwali Village, you still need to walk for 500 meters, before you arrive in Curug Nyandung.

The name Sitonjul is a combination of two village names: Simenyan Tonjong and Munjul. The village is located in Sangkanhurip, Cilimus. Sitonjul is 13 kilometers away from Kuningan downtown area, or about 26 minutes of driving by Siliwangi Road. The majority of villagers in Sitonjul are farmers, so it is small wonder that rice fields and orchards are common views in this area.

Curug Walet is a waterfall located in Cirahayu, Citundun Village, Ciwaru. This waterfall is located in the south-east part of Kuningan. To visit Curug Walet Waterfall, you must drive for 37 kilometers or about 1 hour and 15 minutes by Ki Gedeng Luragung Road.

This waterfall is located in a fairly high cliff. However, the water curtain falls to a small and shallow pool, so it is a perfect place for you to splash around. The water debit in this waterfall is also relatively small, so anyone can visit this place and enjoy the clean and refreshing water.

40.  Cilengkrang Valley.

To visit the valley, there are three options of routes to pick: by Ir. Soekarno Road, Jenderal Sudirman Road, or Ir. H. Juanda Road. After that, you can just follow the route to the north until you arrive in Cilengkrang Valley in Pajambon Village, Kramatmulya.

In this location, you will find three destinations worth of visits, such as waterfalls, natural hot bath, and forest park. Cilengkrang Valley has two waterfalls, called Curug Sabuk and Curug Sawer. Curug Sabuk is located on a rocky cliff with 30 meters of height, while Curug Sawer is 75 meters high.

Besides waterfalls, you can also enjoy a natural hot bath with 1-meter depth. The hot pool gets its water from a small stream not far from the location. While bathing and relaxing, you can enjoy the view of tall, shady trees around the location.

Another place to visit here is a forest park called Kopi Gede. You can unwind and relax with the whole family while enjoying local foods in warung (food stall). To visit Cilengkrang Valley, you need to pay an admission fee of 10,000 IDR.
