On September 9, 1970, G.T. Soerbakti founded CV Lorena, which was taken from the name of his first child, Eka Sari Lorena Soerbakti. Although it had been established since 1970, this Bus Company (PO) only officially started operating in 1973. Lorena began its history by serving the short Intercity Interprovincial (AKAP) route Bogor - Jakarta via Cibinong, relying on two Mercedes-Benz OF 1113 bus fleets.

In its development, Lorena continued to increase the number of its fleet and travel routes gradually. In 1975, Lorena opened the Jakarta - Bandung route via Puncak. Lorena also made a big leap by presenting the long-distance AKAP route in 1984. Starting with the Jakarta - Surabaya route, Lorena then invaded other cities in Java in the same year. This achievement also started a new era of Lorena's services because its fleet was then equipped with facilities such as air conditioning, reclining seats, toilets, audio video entertainment facilities, smoking areas, main meals, and snacks.

As the business continued to grow, Lorena continued to design strategies to maximize its operational activities. In 1989, Lorena acquired PO Raseko. The bus operator was then relaunched under the name PT Ryanta Mitra Karina, or commonly known as PO Karina, in the same year. This business unit operates in AKAP bus services to Jakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Madura, and Denpasar.

In 2002, CV Lorena changed its name to PT Eka Sari Lorena Transport to improve the company's quality to be more professional. Efforts to continuously improve quality eventually resulted in the ISO 9001:2000 certificate in 2003, which means that Lorena has successfully met international standards for quality management systems. This achievement makes Lorena the first land transportation company to obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Now, the company headquartered at Jl. K.H. Hasyim Ashari Dalam No. 15 C.2, Gambir, Central Jakarta has reached more than 60 cities in Java, Bali, and Sumatra. To maximize its service, Lorena provides a fleet of buses with a choice of executive, VIP, and business classes.

Executive class buses only serve the eastern part of Java and Bali. • Passengers must show (1) a rapid antigen test result conducted no later than 24 hours before departure or a negative PCR test result conducted no later than 48 hours before departure
• Passengers must show a vaccination certificate if they are traveling in the PPKM area. The certificate must state that the passenger has received at least the first dose of the vaccine.
• Passengers who are not or have not been vaccinated for medical reasons can use the results of a rapid antigen or PCR test only. However, passengers must show a statement from a specialist doctor.
• Passengers under the age of 12 are temporarily restricted from traveling.
• Tickets are only valid for the bus code, passenger name, date, and time as written on the ticket.
• Maximum baggage capacity 20 kg. If more, passengers must pay an additional fee of 2% of the ticket price.
• Lorena is not responsible for the loss of passenger belongings.
• Passengers are prohibited from bringing animals.
• Passengers are prohibited from bringing drugs.
• Refunds will not be given to passengers who miss the bus due to arriving late at the departure point.
• Bus staff have the right to change passenger seat numbers in an emergency.
• Bus tickets must be kept during the trip.
• Departure times are subject to change and passengers will be informed 2 hours before the original departure time.
• Departure times, bus types, and bus routes are subject to change at any time for operational reasons.
• If the bus is canceled due to damage and no other buses are available, passengers will receive a full refund.
• The number of claims submitted by passengers, such as claims for bus delays or accidents, cannot exceed the ticket price.
• Passengers must get off at the arrival point as written on the ticket.
• Bus staff has the right to drop off passengers who do not comply with bus regulations.

• Bus tickets that have been purchased cannot be cancelled so you cannot get a refund.
