As South Korea's capital city, Seoul is famous for a lot of things: drama films and K-Pop music to name a few. While visiting this city, there are a lot of activities for you to do from shopping, visiting the cafes, or going on a culinary adventure at the traditional markets. There are also a lot of outdoor activities you can enjoy. Here are our recommendations:
Seoul has a lot of parks lined with lush green trees along the side of Hangang River. If you're visiting on spring or fall, you'll get to see the cherry blossoms or the scenery of reddish yellow leaves. Parks such as Ywouido, Seoul Forest, and Namsan are the most popular among the locals to take a stroll or simply enjoying the fresh air between the hustle and bustle of Seoul City.
Hiking is actually one most popular past time activities for the people of South Korea. To shake away the weariness of routine, they would often go to the mountains on the weekend. You can try hiking to Bukhansan, Inwangsan, or Bugaksan Mountain where you can enjoy the view of Seoul from up high.
There are a lot of amusement parks for all ages to enjoy in Seoul. Seoul Land, Lotte World, and Seoul Children's Grand Park are the most popular among them. Apart from numerous exciting rides, some of these parks are also home to museum facilities where you can learn more about the history of South Korea.

If you're a fan of Korean drama, you should be familiar with the scene of people enjoying ramen or local snacks along the side of Hangang river. You can get to experience these scenes by visiting Ttukseom Hangang or Yeouido Park. In these parks, there are a lot of minimarkets where you can cook instant ramen noodles and bring them to the riverbank to enjoy. You can also prepare picnic mats and purchase Korean fried chicken dishes and have them delivered to you.
The bank of Cheonggyecheon River offers a different experience compared to Hangang River. The locals usually visit this place to simply walk along the bank or sit around and enjoy the serene atmosphere. If you happen to visit during the fall, you'll get to see the Seoul Lantern Festival. Don't miss the chance to see the beautiful light performance in Cheonggye Plaza.
Since all of those activities mentioned above will be done outdoors, make sure you wear appropriate clothing according to the temperature. Happy holiday!
