BI Checking is information that records a person's credit payment process. However, since January 1, 2018, BI Checking has changed its name to SLIK or the Financial Information Service System managed by the OJK. BI checking / SLIK can be seen by all financial institutions to find out customer honesty.
SLIK will provide information regarding the status of credit guarantees, whether ongoing or unpaid. Based on the information obtained from the data, a financial institution can make a decision whether a prospective customer deserves a loan or not.
Then what if you are registered on the blacklist data because you have a history of substandard credit payments? What steps should be taken to clear the history? The following will describe how to clear a name from a bad credit history, let's listen to it!
1. Pay Off Debts in Arrears
Pay off the debt as soon as possible after you get the details from SLIK. However, you have to be patient, because processing this data update can take quite a long time. About 2 months after you pay off all your arrears.
2. Report to Related Financial Institutions
The next step is to provide evidence of the report to the relevant financial institution. This step needs to be done if the iDeb status has not changed even though you have paid off the arrears.
The trick is to bring proof of debt repayment to the nearest OJK in your city. So that the OJK is doing the deletion of bad credit history and you can re-apply for a loan at the bank.
