We had a wonderful and comfortable 1 night stay at this thoughtfully decorated Hotel in historic Ballarat. Dinner and Breakfast at Lola Restaurant were top notch and personell friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

The room was absolutely so much more than what I expected! The decor was so classical, the room was huge, and all the ameneties were just great! The bed was super comfortable too. Lola restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious. I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone looking for a special place to stay!

First stay at this hotel and it was really nice. The rooms and hotel generally were clean, and all was in good order. Not the largest rooms but for one it was fine.
They do offer off-street parking but tried twice, on check-in and then after dinner and there was no space. There is all day parking about 30-40 metres away so that wasn't the end of the world.
I have one negative or criticism, and that was to do with breakfast where I met a client. We both ordered eggs, but it came with just one piece of bread!! I had 2 fried eggs, and they were scrunched onto just one piece of toast which I wasn't happy about. Seems a bit cheap when you are paying $20 for eggs on toast.
If I did stay here again, I would certainly have breakfast elsewhere.

Great hotel in Ballarat, clean, extremely friendly staff, nice rooms, nothing to fault! Just really friendly staff that were always willing to help and make our stay pleasurable! Definitely recommend this place

We were on the 1st level, with rooms above us, the occupants upstairs were very noisy, until 10pm.
I didn’t like the confinement of the room.
We dined at Lola Restaurant, a bit pricey, the food was delicious. However the 2 course special with a Wine or Beer was good value.
The car parking is hit and miss as patrons dining at the restaurant take the parking. Otherwise their is street parking meters.

We stayed at the Provincial in a 2-bedroom for 2 nights. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant was attractive, and our breakfast there was good. Two things for future guests to note: First, the reception closes at 5:30pm. We didn't realize that and almost missed the check-in time, which is very early for a hotel. Second, in our 2- bedroom, the second bedroom was accessed through the first. This was pretty awkward; our friend had to walk through our room and past our bed every time he wanted to get to his room or the bathroom. This arrangement would work well for families with kids, but was not great for friends traveling together.
