The Strand Hotel

Charming boutique hotel but the rooms are in dire need of paint and touch up- all was comfortable but walls in need of paint!

Like: very friendly staff. good continental breakfast dislike: very small room and no closet

This is an original Sydney property that has had a refurbishment. They have done a tasteful job, rooms nicely decorated, good bathroom, good air con. Clever use of space - library/sitting room boutique feel and great to have coffee on tap any time. Breakfast simple but all home made/baked. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great location walk anywhere

No water in the room, bathroom had no amenities like body wash, toothpaste etc. I would never stay there again and to think it was so costly for one night.

Very sweet boutique hotel with a bar underneath and a lovely rooftop bar at the top. Staffing was basic but staff were attentive. Simple but lovely breakfast spread. Rooms could use an update. Nothing fancy but charming and perfectly fine for one or two nights, and good value in the CBD.

Hotel is above a pub but I didn’t hear any noise. But there is only stairs to use and carry luggage. The room was spacious but it felt it needs an upgrade. Walls are marked and chair in room had stains. It felt like the room could do with a refresh

Staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. I also liked the complimentary breakfast and coffee. Had a pleasant drink in the pub too. We liked the The Strand Hotel very much and would definitey come back again.

Common areas are nice. Rooms are quiet. Needs a paint.

Staff were lovely and accomodated requests. Thought I had made a mistake when realised room was above bar. Room was quiet, clean and had a real vibe. Would stay and recommend this hotel, great location

The building is three stories with rooms on the first and second levels. There is no lift but the friendly staff were more than happy to help bring the luggage to your room. The rooms were comfortable and cozy though they could do with a paint job. There is a rooftop bar that can get a little noisy on the weekend. Breakfast was continental but the yogurt, granola and pastries were all homemade and delicious. The building was just across the street from the Hop On Hop Off bus stop and a 25 minute walk to Circular Quay. Lots of dining in the area.

The booking confirmation did not have a phone number to the hotel. It would have been useful. The hotel was like a European small hotel. Very friendly. Good but limited breakfast. Good beds. Limited storage. Had a safe. Very friendly. Excellent location.

The best part of the Strand is the amazing staff. Aways there to help, with a smile, never a "no" but what can we do!!

The hotel is quite unique and in a great location. Our room was lovely and the Nespresso coffee machine a very welcome surprise. The breakfast was also very good. There are a lot of stairs in this hotel so it may not be suitable for some. The rooftop restaurant was cool but we really enjoyed the pub.

I loved my overnight stay at The Strand! I was exhausted after long flights from Canada and the staff were helpful and patient with great advice and directions. The breakfast was outstanding.

This place is nicely done out. There is a gorgeous rooftop bar but we couldn’t go because there was a private function. I was suprised to find this was a pub and it is out of the main tourist sydney district.

Excellent staff, loved the quaint library… rooms were a bit small, but overall a really nice boutique hotel.

Amazing property! The room was great and the staff was very nice and friendly with amazing recommendations. Would come back again!
