Sonder The Slate

Very modern and updated

The access information was not given to me by Expedia. I had to call Sonder from outside the door of the hotel and spend 15 trying to get access while in the freezing cold.

It's a great place to stay. It's classy, close to everything, and the Penthouse floor is very good value. I will stay here again.

Great boutique hotel at an excellent location! Clean and well maintained. Excellent customer service and communication with support team.

Great location if you are seeing a concert or going to a game. Washroom set up is weird and the pillows weren’t comfortable.

This was perfect for my short stay in Toronto. The room was comfortable with everything I needed, and the check-in and check-out processes were very easy with the Sonder app.

Nice room, comfortable, yet very loud because of its location and their windows aren’t to par to keep the noise outside.

This type of hotel is not to my liking.

Very spacious room and very comfortable bed, sofa and surprisingly quiet for a city hotel! Once you understand the way the staff less thing works, it's easy, but in fact there was a guy on the door to help and inform at the door when we arrived and departed the next day. Only minor thing was that the coffee machine in the room was missing the right coffee in the morning. Not the end of the world, I had tea! Super cool decor too!🙂

I would stay here again

Property was nice but extremely loud. Didn’t sleep great and heard traffic and people outside all night. Also the check in process was extremely difficult and took a while but the Sonder customer service reps. was helpful.

Bathroom door was way too heavy. I’m a big guy, so I could not imagine how someone elderly or disabled would get into the bathroom. Shower curtain didn’t cover the whole shower, bathroom floor got soaked. Received messages from the hotel in the middle of the night making it hard to sleep. Windows did nothing to curb the noise. Had to check multiple times that there wasn’t an open window to explain the amount of noise in the room.

Like how clean and quite the place was just didn’t like how there is someone in the main lobby at all times

Well situated downtown and nice loft

I recently stayed at Sonder The Slate and can only give it a 1-star review. The overall stay was just okay and definitely not worth the price due to their abhorrent customer service. Upon arrival, my booked loft room wasn't available, and they moved me to a basic room. I contacted support through the chat function on their app. When I explained, this was not the room that I booked and would like to be put in the room I booked, she stated she wasn't able to do that. When I then asked to be compensated for the price difference, the agent insisted that they were the same price, so they wouldn't have provide me with any refund. I had to prove otherwise with receipts, as I had booked a coworker into one of their regular room for the same days. Only then did she change her tune and admit their was a price difference but refused to reimburse me because she said, and I quote "it wasn’t that much of a difference." Frustrated, I requested to cancel and get a refund to find another place to stay, to which she said no, I had to stay in that room. Eventually, I called customer service and spoke to a nice gentleman on the phone, and thankfully, the new agent immediately apologized and agreed to fully reimburse me due to their error and the unavailability of the loft room I originally booked. While the stay was manageable, the initial customer service experience left a horrible taste. I won't be returning, nor will I book my colleagues or recommend this place to anyone in the future

I had a pleasant stay here and would definitely be back.

The area was great with an AWESOME pizza place just across the road and a quaint little bar right beside the front entrance. It was within walking distance of the Art Gallery, Scotiabank Theater and Union Station which was pivotal to our trip. Checking in was a little more complicated than I would have liked but after we were able to get in everything was smooth from there.
